Dr. Shepard,

you are very thick for a neurosurgeon, hence why I now say that you are an IDIOT! What are you thinking? Here a list of what I think of your latest actions:

Your wife cheats on you with your best friend on your favorite sheets so you move across the country. Good move.

You fall for an intern named Meredith Grey. Not such a good idea but you were both happier so I won't complain, much.

You fail to mention to mention to said intern that you are trying to file for a divorce; in fact, you fail to mention that you are married at all. I should have all that pretty hair of yours shaved off for that, McDreamy.

Your wife arrives and attempts to win you back, you call her Satan for three straight weeks and push her to sign the divorce papers. This is why you were keeping your hair for that moment.

Addison hands you the papers and says if you sign, so will she, you proceed to think very long and hard over this fact. I left you be, it's your decision.

You go back to Addison, claiming that she's your family. I should let Grey's friends tear you into little pieces, grind you into a fine dust with a mortar and pestle, and scatter you over a landfill.

You break Meredith's heart. This is why I'm going to do what her friends wish to do.

Honestly, Derek, don't push Grey aside for Addison. The woman may be a damn good surgeon but she does not make a good wife of one. She can't handle it. She said she cheated to get your attention, which should tell you something. Either she didn't know how demanding a surgeon's job can be or she didn't think yours would be as bad as hers. She wants someone waiting at home, not someone waiting at work.

The point of this is not to threaten you, Derek, nor pressure you into changing your mind. The point is that you need to start thinking about YOU. Stop thinking you have an obligation to Addison because she's the only family you got. Think about what you want. But the situation is clear, if you stay with Addison, you will return to New York and we'll all miss you. If you leave Addison a second time to stay here, you'll gain a much larger family who generally want to see you happy and understand what you want and need.

Choices are never easy, Dr. Shepard, someone always gets hurt, Remember the people with the pole through them after the train wreck? We had to decide, the same as you. And Meredith was the one hurt. That image will be in my mind forever, Grey standing over that girl saying that we couldn't just abandon her. You couldn't abandon her.

Try living with Addison again if you want. I'm just saying that if you do decide to go back to New York, we will miss you and you will be going back bald.
