Author's Note: Very short one-shot, sort of House/Cameron if you want to look at it that way. As usual, unbeta'd so I could use all the help I can get. Criticism, comments all are welcome!

Nothing

Cameron had always believed that on the inside, House was a good person. Buried deep beneath the layers of sarcasm, cruelty, and scorn, there was a man who cared; who actually wanted to help. After all, that's why you become a doctor right? But now, looking into his eyes, she saw no caring. No compassion, no feeling. The blue of his eyes were shards of ice, cutting through her defenses and baring her soul for the world to view at it's leisure. She had put herself out in the open, tried to be honest. Now she was paying the price for her naiveté. Now she knew better. Underneath all the bitterness and acerbity, there was nothing.
