The Stranger
Hanna sat on her bed writing intently in her journal. So much had happened in the last week and she hadn't had the time to record it all during the week. She had no clue where to start.
Drear Journal,
My best friend has been dumped by the foreign exchange student, Chris. Yea, sure he's cute and has an awesome accent, but I hate him. Who could be so stupid as to dump Kasy I mean really! He thinks that just because he came to America and became instantly popular that he can just do what he wants to do. Well it doesn't work that way! If I were Kasy I would turn and kick him to the curb if he's that insensitive.
My math teacher had the nerve to give me a D on my test. Just because he doesn't like me! Well, maybe studying would have helped a little but he still doesn't like me.
All for now,
Hanna
Hanna slipped the small journal beneath her bed mattress and pulled the covers over her. It was Saturday night and she was worn out from her week of school. As she closed here eyes the only thoughts on her mind were of the jerk Chris and her best friend.
Hanna woke up from a strange rustling noise in her room. She sat up and turned on her bedside lamp. Her eyes widened when the glowing light showed a man in her room. He was dressed in strange cloths, like the ones she'd seen the Jedi wear in the Star Wars movies. "Who are you," she demanded. To tell the truth she wasn't sure she wasn't dreaming but she knew that she was scared out of her wits. A knowing smirk seemed to form on the Jedi guy's face. "Well, out with it!"
"My name is Jedi master Judis Nathanne," the man answered her. A slight amusement was in his voice. Unfortunately Hanna was not nearly as amused.
"Yea right, the Jedi don't exist you kook." She watched as the expression on the man's face changed from amusement to pure bliss. It appeared as though he was about to laugh in her face. "What's so funny!" she demanded.
"If only you knew. Well I have not come here to listen to you deny the existence of the Jedi. You have been commissioned by the deceased Jedi Council on a mission to save the Jedi and the universe in general." Hanna just sat in silence for a second or too before finally coming to her senses.
"You mean a bunch of dead guys want me to save the universe," a look of disbelief was etched onto her features. "You are crazy!"
"Well it's not exactly your choice. When I say you have been commissioned I mean you have been chosen and there is no choice on your part. Though I am sure you would have chosen to do the right thing if it were your choice." A look of shock was now dominant on Hanna's face.
"You mean I'm about to go on some crazy mission in some foreign galaxy with no friends and no clue how things might turn out and I don't have any say in the matter!"
"You have the general idea."
"I'd have to say that this is by far the strangest dream I have personally had in my entire life."
"Think what you want but we are wasting precious time that is not ours to waste." With that Hanna found herself suspended in the air. It was one of the strangest feelings she had ever experienced. Though she could identify the pull of gravity it was no longer the dominant force. It was as if an invisible hand had gently picked here up and was holding her above the ground. Suddenly her room started to spin around her and fade from existence. She wanted to scream but it was as if her voice had been taken away from her. Colors were blending into each other unlike anything she had ever seen. Then everything went black.
