"Now let's get out of here, before twelve angry hybrids decide to pick a fight" Klaus said, while he suggested leaving the football field.
Klaus was happy, mainly because Caroline was, but just last week, he and Rebekah had patched things up and she decided to move to New Orleans. Klaus smirked, as he thought '1/2 blondes'.
"Oh, I'm coming, I'm coming" Caroline muttered as she packed up some more boxes. She'd had a splendid day, she had finally graduated, and everything felt perfect.
Caroline ran down the aisle to meet Klaus halfway, she linked to his arm, and giggled. They walked a few paces in complete silence, enjoying being in bliss harmony together.
Caroline thoroughly enjoyed Klaus 'company, he made her feel completely safe yet he carried an element of exciting danger, that she'd never felt before. Surprisingly, she felt comfortable around him and she knew the feelings she felt toward him were more than just pity...but she constantly feared, what people would think of her.
Ever since day one, Caroline feared being rejected from anything and everything, her own father rejected her vampire phase (at first), Damon had belittled her and ruined her confidence even more, Tyler, before their relationship began, even threw insults around. All these little things and insecurities still troubled her and left Caroline with the penultimate question, will she ever be good enough?
"Are you okay, love" Klaus asked, noticing Caroline had gone into a daze.
"Yes." Caroline instantly responded, wondering whether she could trust Klaus with something so personal.
Klaus looked at Caroline, right into her clear blue eyes, and saw his reflection in her eyes, and in that moment, Klaus decided to try to be better, not good, but he no longer wanted to lash out, and recklessly do things, not just for Caroline but also, for his family. He looked deeper into her eyes, and saw sadness, which was strange to him. How can she be so sad, she's beautiful, powerful, has loyal and trusting friends, Klaus again began to think, that's what I want, loyalty.
Caroline looked at him, full of admiration, as Klaus was the original hybrid, no one dared to cross him, he was powerful, he was amazing and he was unpredictable. Caroline liked to plan, plan, and plan again, she hated the idea of being beaten and despised the idea of being weak, she didn't like to be looked down on, which is why she was so grateful of becoming this monster, a vampire. It heightened who she was, it made her feel alive, and people no longer saw her as a little girl.
So here stood two people: one original, one baby, one hybrid, one vampire –yet in this moment they were just a boy and girl, falling hopelessly, desperately in love.
A few minutes passed, and Caroline broke the gaze, with a hug. As she moved in to hug Klaus, she surprised herself, what was she doing, but she carried on anyway, just wanting to feel his warmth on her body, and for his strong arms to cradle her.
As he held her in his embrace, he thought, I don't want to lose her, and as he caressed her hair with his murderous hands, she ran her hands around his back. Teasing him, with tickles and twists of her gentle finger tips on his back, excited Klaus, he didn't ever want to move...
