Another kinda random impossible Marauders fic. Based off another of Jade's challenges. Uhm,, lets say they're second years in this. Also, I don't really know if cotton candy was invented yet, so if it wasn't...then....um....well whatever. Pretend it was!

Um, I'm not entierly pleased with how this turned out. It seems a bit....Well, I don't know. I had a hard time finding how to use 'cotton candy'. But i managed to write something. :)

DISCLAIMER: I don't own Harry Potter. Thats quite obvious, thank you very much.

"Sirius, what are you eating?" Remus asked with a raised eyebrow, taking a seat next to his friend. James and Peter had the same question on their faces. They'd only left Sirius alone for an hour after all and they returned to find him stuffing his face with something that looked like bright pink cotton or wool.

The mentioned merely shrugged between a large mouthful, answering with a muffled, "Don't know." Peter seemed bemused by the concept and Remus still looked skeptical. James however shrugged and snatched some of the apparently edible fuzz, shoving it into his mouth and offering a thoughtful expression.

Finally he gave a half grin and looked at the others. "Its basically pure sugar!" Hearing that, the other two timidly grabbed pieces for themselves. Remus immediately took more, able to see why James and Sirius liked it so much. Peter made a face that looked semi-forced. "Oh come on Wormtail, you know you like it too." James teased.

Sirius laughed at something the others didn't seem to get, promptly earning him two whacks in the back of the head. Peter smiled though, having to agree with the others now. "I suppose so…" He took another wad. The others were already starting another bag, adding the wrappings to a growing pile on the ground. None dared to ask how many bags Sirius got or how he got them.

A bit later, and with most of them on the brink of a sugar high, Remus pointed out, "We're going to get sick from this." He was met with three frowns of agreement as the others stopped eating. Suddenly Sirius got that look, and then he looked at James who got the look, and James looked at me and I looked at Peter.

"No Padfoot," Remus shook his head in amusement, "It doesn't matter how much of this you eat or how sick you get. That is not a good excuse to be excused from classwork tomorrow." Sirius pouted and James pursed a frown.

But Sirius quickly enough had that annoying smirk plastered back on his face. "Want to bet on it?" His mind had read Remus' statement as; It's not a good excuse, but that does indeed mean it's an excuse. None of the opposing side really seemed keen on it but soon enough the four were all racing to eat as much of the treat as they could.

Sure enough they were up all night with sugar rushes. Sure enough they completely crashed in the morning. Sure enough they didn't attend classes the next day. And absolutely obviously enough when they tried to explain their story to McGonagall she was all but pleased. Thus, there were new additions to the Marauders seemingly everlasting detention record.
