Speechless
Rose had always thought that there was someting poetic about an unfinished sentence, specially when the person saying it was Scorpius. There was just someting about it, like your brain can't express your feelings with words, like it's just too much.
The thing about Scorpius and unfinished sentences was that the young wizard always had something to say, he never ran out of words, particularly mean ones. Except when it came to telling her how he felt.
The day Scorpius told Rose how he felt about her was the first time she took the words out of Malfoy's mouth. They were standing next to the Black Lake, their sixth year had just started but they were already tired of each other. They were arguing about who knows what (they used to bicker all the time about the most stupid stuff), when suddenly a frustrated Rose Weasley says:
"You know what?! I don't care about anything you have to say! Just leave! I don't wanna see your stupid face! Why do we spend so much time together?! We don't even like each other!"
Scorpius just stood there for a few seconds not really knowing what to say, the argued, that was their thing, they had a sassy comeback for everything the other person said or did, it was kind of nice. He finally said:
"Why do you think I don't like you?"
"Well you're mean to me all the time, every time you talk to me it's to make fun of me, we've never had a nice conversation"
Replied Rose, and it was true, Scorpius' favorite activity was making fun of Rose, he said mean things about her hair, and her freckles and how clumsy she was, but it was just a game, she said mean things about him too… although, in all honesty, he was the one who started it every single time, it was just a coping mechanism to deal with the fact that (It's a childish reason but… Oh, well! Scourpius was just a teen) he thought she was the smartest, most beautiful witch he had ever met.
"Rose, I didn't mean all those things, I…"
I… What? I like you? I think you're the most amazing human being on the face of the earth? I have fallen hopelessly in love with you? All of the above?
He just could't finish, there was too much. Of what? Nothing, just too much. So he did the only thing that made sense in this situation, he kissed her, he just took a step forward, and kissed her. At first it was a bit awkward, Rose was in shock and Scorpius' hands were nowhere but then, Rose's lips started moving and Scorpius' hands reached the small of her back, pulling her closer to him.
When he let her go they just looked at each other, no words were needed to say the things they felt.
