I waited on the bench in central park I had told Alec to meet me on.

I sensed him behind me but I didn't turn around until he cleared his throat.

I raised an eyebrow at his appearance. Not that Alec was the type to care about that kind of thing, which in my eyes made him even more adorable.

Damn this.

His eyes were tired and slightly red, as if he had a cold or had been crying. Good. Let him cry.

But they were so sad, his eyes. Those bright blue pools that were so much like Will's. Another mortal I had nearly fallen in love with.

But you didn't 'nearly' fall in love with Alec did you?

Shut up!

He looked somewhat scared. Nothing like the brave-yet-bored Shadowhunter that had originally appeared on my doorstep without invitation.

"I'm sorry" were the first words out of his mouth.

"For what exactly? Plotting with my ex to shorten my life or sorry it didn't work?" I snapped.

He was actually trembling. Where was all his Shadowhunter courage now?

"She tricked me, I wasn't going to do it, and if you had just been honest with me it wouldn't have been an issue!"

"That's rather bold of you when you were sneaking around trying to make me mortal with Camille!"

"I told you everything about me Magnus! What do I know about you?"

"I don't know Alec, what do you know about me?"

He took a deep breath.

"I know you love all glitter but purple is your favorite, I know you like to decorate your bathroom like your place in Paris from the 1700's, which probably the only thing you've ever told me about you from anywhere past the 21st century."

"I know you like chicken dumplings from that Chinese place around the corner from your loft, I know you've liked but never actually had a proper relationship with a Shadowhunter before me."

"I know you only like classical music by Mozart and Beethoven, I know you don't have a favorite colour and you like cats better than dogs. But I don't know your actual name, where you were born, who your parents were, what their names were, what they were like, if you had any siblings, how old you are, if you've had any pets besides Chairman Meow, who your friends are, what they do, where they live."

At this point Alec had to take a breath.

"Angel Magnus, I love you, I just want to know everything about you. Everything that makes up Magnus Bane because i'm in fucking love with you."

And at that he grabbed the sides of my face and kissed me.

When we came up for air I rested my forehead on his.

"I really fucked it up this time, didn't I my dear" I breathed.
