Ronks!

Nymphadora Tonks looked down at her turquoise-haired baby boy, as he grabbed her finger tight. Maybe he knew that she was going off for a little while – or maybe forever. Maybe he knew that mummy and daddy were to go and fight to give me a better life. Or, maybe he just knew that something was about to happen that could change his life forever. Whatever it was though, Tonks could sense that Teddy knew something. He's just a as smart as his father, she thought, whilst planting a kiss on his forehead. He gurgled at her touch, and she laughed while tear drops fell down her cheeks.

Footsteps sounded behind her, but even without turning she knew it was her mother. She had a hunch about this moment for days, and it was just about to come true. Tonks turned her head slowly toward the door, in which they both stared at each other before the silence broke.

"Will you look after him?" Tonks asked, although there was a begging tone in her voice.

"Of course" Andromeda replied, almost instantly.

"Go now, child. Before-"

"Let me say goodbye to my son" She turned back to Teddy, staring into his eyes. More teas fell as the events of the day started replaying in her mind. This could truly be it, she thought. She placed her hands around Teddy's small frame, and picked him up into her arms. And before she even knew what was happening, the words began to follow:

Now hush little baby, don't you cry,

Everything's gonna be alright.

Stiffen that upper lip up little baby, I told ya,

Momma's here to hold ya though the night.

I know Daddy's not here right now, and we don't why why,

We fear how we feel inside.

It may seem a little crazy, pretty baby,

But I promise Dadda's gon' be alright.

She slowly cradled her baby boy back and forth in her hands, while the tears streamed down her face. Nothing was harder than this decision, but the thought of leaving Remus out battling had enough force within its self to kill her. She stood and walked over to her mother, then passed Teddy over.

"Bye little one" Tonks whispered as she kissed his forehead again.

And with that she apparated out and into the war zone.

Hogwarts had changed. Students were lying dead. Parents were mourning. Widows left distraught. The very thought of this gave her heartache, and her pace quickened on her quest to find her husband.

She ran through the grounds and into the building of Hogwarts looking for him. As she cleared the floors one by one. Her heart beat rose. Where is he? She thought desperately.

Further and further she rose, and with no sign of him. She began to breathe heavily, and tears blurred her eyeslight. As she turned a left, though, she saw the back of a figure standing next to kingsley Shacklebolt, who resembled the profile of one very much like her husband's.

Her feet became heavier against the ground, which caught his attention.

"You shouldn't have!" Remus shouted, as Tonks leaped into his arms. "It's Teddy who needs you tonight"

She was spun once, before being let down. Tonks looked deep into her husband's eyes.

"He'll sleep till dawn and snore like his father. It's you who needs me"

And with that, the couple held each other until it was time to separate.
