A/N: The prompt was 'heartbeat; Van'. It's from my friend Matthew, who is as crazy as he is annoying (He's really annoying xD)
He was also commenting on the picture I sent him of the glow stars on my roof, so I decided to add that in too.
Does anyone else have their own little world? Mine is when I'm by myself.
Disclaimer: Don't own.
It was crazy, but Vanessa always checked her heartbeat before she went to sleep. It was a good feeling to know that she was defiantly alive.
Taking a deep breath, she focused on the way the tiny bits of light from outside her window make the roof of her dorm shimmer. Especially with the glow stars on the roof.
It made her feel as if she lived in her own universe.
The world did revolve around Vanessa, and no one could touch her.
Her father told her not to be too upset when her mother died. Her mother was a star in the sky, looking down on her.
Her mother was part of the universe. She was part of the world that revolved around her.
Focusing on the glowing stars on her roof, Van began to name each one. With each star she named, she forgot it the next morning. But that made it more fun, right?
Van checked her heartbeat one last time before she fell asleep.
She was safe. No one could attack her when she was in her own little world.
