Hello every one. This is my second fanfic, so I'm still not very good yet. English is not my first language so please don't be very harsh. I Hope somebody enjoys it. I am still looking for a beta.

Chi-Chi, knit work sitting idly in her lap hangs her head and sighs. She has been working on the sweater for Gohan for what seems like ages! Will he even wear it? She wonders. She holds it up to the light.

"It's perfect!" She assures herself. For her perfect little boy… who is not exactly a little boy anymore.

A pre-teen now, almost a teenager! Where did the time go to? It was wasted on battlefields and in stuffy hospitals, when it should have been spent at home. He will regret it when he is much older, missing out on a normal child hood- but then she thinks, they never have been a normal family, have they? Chichi's thoughts drift to the bighaired little boy with the goofy smile that made her knees wobble.

"Goku…" she shakes her head, smiling.

So silly and so sweet.

She looks down at her teacup steaming away and then looks out the window.

No matter how many times it happens, it always takes time adjusting; the kitchen being empty, the house being spotless.

She misses her son's gentle tug in her dress for attention, to know what time dinner will be done. She misses his laughter and the quiet hours of him studying and Goku training out back, and then a long bath with him. Her Gohan, with Piccolo again, training! He should be home, she thinks. Studying, maybe even helping her make dinner, but no, he is out in the elements, maybe cold, sleepy, lonely, and can use a good new sweater.

"I swear, if it were not for the fact that the universe depended on him, I would get him out of there right now! And make him read every book in the house. Why can I not have a normal family?" She fumes, her temper getting worse. "Who cares about the stupid old universe anyway? Let it fend for itself for once!" She pauses, feeling her anger drain. She grips her knitting, sticks tightly. "Oh, I don't really mean that, but it isn't fair! I guess this is what I get for falling in love with the little weirdo."

She is silent for a long while. "He may not be perfect, but he is my weirdo."

The sun is setting and night is on it's way. Chi-Chi drinks the rest of her tea and wash her cup clean and stores it away. She does not feel like knitting anymore. She puts it on the table neatly and wanders to Gohan's room. Every thing is just how he left it. Now she feels the tears coming, and bites her hand to force them back. She accepted a long time ago that Goku was a fighter, and she fought to make sure Gohan did not follow his foot prints, but it was a battle she lost. Knowing she can now lose not only her husband, but her son, this part never gets any easier.

"Oh, Gohan. Mommy misses you. Don't grow up without me, kay?"
