Ok, so this is my first fanfic. I love High School Musical, my favorite characters were Ryan and Sharpay. So this is my story and it's about how Sharpay sort of is more of a 'power-freak' person and has to have complete control, and Ryan basically just goes with whatever she says or does without complaining (much). It's gonna be basically the movie, but from Ryan and Sharpay's point of view (not exactly their point of view, but I mean it's going to follow them). I took some liberties (with flashbacks and their family and scenes that don't have them and such)
Disclaimer: Don't own it.
Chapter One
Eight Years Ago…
Eight-year-old Sharpay Evans greeted her older brother. Ryan Evans was merely nine minutes older, but she still liked to call him "Big Brother". When they were alone and she was in a good mood that is.
"Ry-an!" She whined the second she caught sight of his blonde head coming through the front door. "You're so late!"
"Sorry Shar, I got lost on the way home."
"Again? Why don't you just follow me?"
"You walk too fast, I can't keep up."
"Stop making excuses and come on, we were supposed to have started practicing five minutes ago!" With that she turned and raced to the large dance-room.

After what seemed like hours, Sharpay and Ryan paused for a break. Sharpay stopped the music and turned to glare at her brother.
"Ryan. You're not doing it right." Ryan didn't respond; he just sat there and smiled innocently at his sister. "Stop smiling like that! It bugs me!" Sharpay stamped her foot in frustration. "Listen! You have to do it right! It has to be perfect! Perfect! PERFECT!" She advanced on her brother and hit him hard across the head.
"Don't yell Shar, I'll do it right, I promise. Please don't yell at me."
"No. You made me mad now. I'm going upstairs to take a shower. Maybe you should stay here and work on it. You can't leave until I'm satisfied." Sharpay stormed out of the room, pausing only to turn the light off, knowing it would scare Ryan. He was always afraid of the large darkness in that room. She enjoyed leaving him behind to find his way blindly to the door. By then he was reduced to a panicked, teary-eyed baby.

Ryan watched his sister leave when suddenly the whole room was plunged into darkness. Ryan's knees began to shake as he shook his head a few times, waiting for the lights to come back on. He blinked back tears as he walked over to the wall, his arms outstretched. He felt the cool surface of the wall and slowly made his way to the door. His face became even sweatier than it had been when he and his sister were dancing. Tears flowed freely down his pale cheeks. Ryan tripped suddenly and fell to the floor. The floor was padded, so it didn't hurt too much. Ryan curled his knees up to his chest and wept openly.
"Sharpay!" He shrieked, the blackness closing in around him. He chewed his nails and rocked back and forth, squeezing his eyes shut. There was a sudden blinding light. Ryan blinked his eyes open, squinting towards the door.
"Ryan, don't be such a baby all the time!" Sharpay sighed as she rolled her eyes. She walked over and pulled Ryan up by his arms. "Stop crying. It bugs me." Ryan nodded his head obediently and wiped his eyes. Sharpay glared at him, but treated him to a rare, almost apologetic hug.
Okay, so, it was rather short and was just a short flashback, but it was just to sort of get it started. Next time: picking up on the first day back from winter break.
