A/N: Kathy/Zero. Don't hit me :'D
Does anyone have a couple they want me to try? I'll try anything.
No prompt for this one, because I had the idea myself.
Un-beta'd.
Disclaimer: No.
There were many things Kathy feared. She feared attention, she feared the dark and she feared fights and arguments.
Kathy travelled down the hallway in the dark. She clutched her torch, but she knew it wouldn't save her. She also had a bag full of dirty laundry, which she was going to wash now, because she was too busy in the day between classes, reading, studying and tutoring Vin.
These nightmares had become a frequent occurrence now, and she hated it. But, she had to be brave.
There were lots of reasons why she had to be brave. Because if she wasn't, who else was going to be? Zero, probably, but still; If she herself couldn't be brave, how would she face up to her fears? She would be brave, just like Zero was.
She walked to the laundry, where she put her clothes in the washing machine. Turning on the washing machine, she made a mental note to go back later to grab it. After all, it was only about half an hour that the clothes would take to wash, and that half an hour could be used for extra studying.
On her way back, Kathy was extra careful. She pointed her torch at any floorboard that creaked, or any drop of water hitting the ground. Luckily it wasn't her dreams, or something would be ready to capture her.
I mean, who dreams about doing their laundry...?
Kathy pinched herself. Nope, still awake.
As she neared her room, she heard the sound of someone sniffling.
Kathy, being the curious girl she was, clutched her torch and walked towards where the sound way coming from. The hallway next to the girl's dorm. She expected to see Van, or even Trixie.
But she didn't see either of the aforementioned girls.
Instead she saw someone entirely different, sitting with her knees pulled up to her chest with her face resting on her knees as she sobbed quietly. "I'm brave... I'm brave..." The girl was whispering as she rocked slightly.
Zero...
Kathy walked over and kneeled beside her. Placing a hand on Zero's shoulder, she whispered reassuring words until the other girl's tears subsided.
Kathy lightly pinched herself again. Getting to spend time with Zero was kind of like a dream, even if the other girl was still upset.
There were many things Kathy feared. And Zero being upset was one of them.
Because if Zero was upset from her nightmares, what hope did anyone else have?
Because it wasn't a dream, but a cold reality. There was nowhere to escape.
