Author's Note: I can't wait for Denise and Frank to learn they're having a baby. I hope it's soon, because they're doing a pretty crappy job of hiding Catherine's pregnancy! Last night's episode was pretty good, and I can't wait for the rest of the season.
Denise Sherwood stared at her doctor in shock. "Did you just say that I'm pregnant?" She hadn't even considered the possibility of this. Denise thought the stress caused by Jeremy nearly killing himself had led to her being late. But she and Frank were having a baby.
The doctor nodded. "Yes, I did. Congratulations, Mrs. Sherwood. You're about thirteen weeks along." He smiled at her.
"I'm in my fourth month?" She was a nurse! How had Denise not noticed the changes her body was going through?
"Yes, you are. Would you like to do the ultrasound now or wait?" questioned the doctor.
"I'll wait for my husband." Frank was going to be absolutely shocked, just like she was. She suddenly couldn't wait to tell him. She left the doctor's, but grabbed some prenatal vitamins from the pharmacy and went home.
"Are you okay?" Frank asked. He had been worried about his wife for the past few weeks.
Denise nodded and then smiled. "He said that I'm pregnant, Frank. We're having a baby!" She still couldn't believe it.
"We're having a baby, Dee?" Frank was going to be a father again. He couldn't believe it. This had shocked him beyond belief.
"I'm four months along. I missed all the signs." Denise gasped when Frank came over to her, picked her up, and kissed her.
"I love you, and I love our baby," he whispered. Frank wasn't about to tell her he had been wondering why she seemed to be gaining weight lately. It made a whole lot of sense now.
"We love you too." Denise sighed and leaned into her husband. They had a lot to do in the next five months. It was going to be hard getting ready for a new baby. God, she still couldn't believe they were having a baby! It was a lot to get used to. At least her and Frank's baby and Roxy and Trevor's baby would be close together in age. Hopefully, they'd be friends.
Diaper changes and 3:00AM feedings were in Frank and Denise's future for the first time in over eighteen years, but they didn't care.
They looked forward to the challenges that their second child would bring them.
