A Short Story
The tiny footsteps of a scurrying rodent on the rooftop scared me. For almost fourteen years, I have suffered two phobias; of darkness and of a small enclosed space. It was the darkness that haunted me the most.
My cousin Crystal went on vacation; to Malaysia. It was the June holidays, a three week long vacation where I could eat, drink and sleep without stress, well almost. I mean, there's this school that I really want to enter, because it's prestigious. Only the smarty people can enter. I'm not sure that I'm smart enough but seeing as though I passed the entrance test as well as the interview, I hope I am. It would break my heart if I failed to enter. This year was my only shot. Anyway, my name's Aster, I'm fourteen years old, into girls and anime, I love Kay Panabaker, she just looks so cute. I love shows such as Yu Gi Oh! Gx and all sorts of hobbies, raising fishes, chatting on msn… Right now, I'm using my cousin's broadband to download, 'Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl;' a really exciting addition to my 30GB white iPod. As I type, my heart beat returns to normal. For a couple of days, I've been doing this. Haha… And for the past two days, at night, I've heard the scuttle bug noises. It's been scaring me so much that I nearly wet my pants. I thought something was out to get me. Every time I turn my back, my spine shrivels and I get goose bumps. My eyes gets watery and I feel like I'm in some scary movie, only, I can't free myself. There it goes again and my heart lurches; what if it comes down? Damn, the stupid emoticon on my computer dementedly said, 'Hello.'
Damn, there that thing goes again! I am so scared. If you guys can help me… And again the rodent goes… Now I am reduced to a tiny caterpillar. Oh, you would laugh your head off!
What the - ? A hand just grabbed my shoulder! A big grimy slimy hand… A man wearing a straw hat just grabbed my shoulder! Help me! This man is dragging me to the TV. Help me! Don't just read this story!! Do something!!
