Or, of how Ino and Sakura ruined the last soccer game of their lives.

Sasuke sighed for the tenth time that night, he couldn't understand why on earth they had to sit through a pointless cheerleading competition before the final game of the season, the most important game of his life; his last game as the high school soccer player captain. He looked over at his teammates, they all seemed somewhat nervous and dead serious, waiting for their turn on the field.
The tension was on the air that night.
He threw a quick glanced at Naruto. He was awfully quite for his normal self. Kiba had his head between his knees; he looked like he had trouble keeping his breathing in check and Neji sat so straight Sasuke swore his spine was going to crack any minute now. Even Sai looked paler than usual. We are so fucked.
The loud cheering of the crowd had interrupted the Uchiha's observations, the Otokagure cheerleading team was on the field, ready to perform. It seemed that just along their respective teams, the cheerleaders of Konoha and Otokagure had made it to the finals on their competition. And he was forced to watch it.
So fucking annoying.

Two weeks before the game
Karin had summoned them for their first official practice for the game at five in the morning. Sakura and Ino walked at a slow pace through the streets of their neighborhood, both still more sleep than awake. Sakura hated the fact that Karin was now the captain of the team, since Ino's accident a couple of months ago, she had twisted her ankle after a bad fall, the red headed girl had given herself the title of captain of the team, arguing there was no way Ino could heal in time for the last game, and since she was the second to oldest one in the team, it was her right.
Most of the girls were already on the park when Sakura and Ino arrived. Tenten and Temari were chatting while stretching near a bench. The girls walked up to them.
"This bitch is crazy calling us at this time" Tenten murmured, she had never been a morning person.
Karin clapped her hand to get everyone's attention "Since Kira and Yuri are injured, and Megumi had to fly out to see her grandparents, we are left odd numbered…" Karin moved around the girls while they stretched. "So, I've been forced to make a decision for the sake of this team…" she stopped her wandering just by the pink haired girl "Sakura, I have decided that you will have to sit this one out, I'm sorry".
Ino was the first to react "What the fuck is wrong with you?! You can't leave her out!"
Karin made her way to where the blonde was standing, she didn't seem intimidated by Ino's height "I'm-" she stressed "the captain of the cheerleading squad remember?, I can do whatever I want to".
Sakura didn't see straight anymore, she was so furious, that bitch had a fucking nerve "God Karin is this about Sasuke?!" she shouted at the captain "Get the fuck over it you crazy maniac!".
The red headed couldn't believe her ears "Oh, I'm sorry … I forgot it was your turn to have Sasuke-kun, after all, you have been crawling your pathetic ass after him for years now!" she snarled at her.
Sakura got up from her position, her fits really to hit the girl. Temari was faster and she stood between the two kittens. "Break it off you two" she said as she pushed them apart.
"Karin, we have done routines with even numbers before, I don't see why it can't work out now" said girl was indeed, intimidated by the blonde, not that she would ever admitted to it. She knew her initial plan of leaving that annoying bitch out had backfired. She faked a smile "You are right Temari, I think that if I make a few adjustmenst, I guess I could change the routine so we can fit another one…"
She turned from the blonde and the pinkette and she smiled widely at the rest "Well, since we'll have to start over, I believe the only way is for Ino and Sakura to stay at the very back of the formation, Yuri if you switch…" she went on.
Sakura felt her blood boil again, was that bitch insane?she also saw how her friend didn't turn from her stretches, yet she could see in the way she was forcing herself even further down the stretch that she was livid. She thanked her internally for not saying anything, being away from the spotlight was something that Ino hated, but she endured it, as long as it meant she could cheer for the very last time alongside with her best friend.

Ino and Sakura met Hinata at the front door of the school, while Sakura filled her in on the morning events, Ino was quietly plotting her revenge.
She knew most of the squad hated the ways Karin used to make them train. She was harsh and mean, she wouldn't let them rest, not even for a second, not matter how tired they were. So, if she was correct, she had more than half the squad to back her up on the plan that was forming on her mind.
"What's on your mind Pig?" the pinkette asked, "You know it's not good for you to think too much" she mocked. Hinata giggled and nudged her on the side. They were outside of their Current Events class.
Ino's face illuminated with malice when the last piece of her plan came into place: "Hinata dear, tell me if you are still friends with that guy with the eyebrows?"
"You mean Lee?" the girl nodded, giving the blonde a curious look "Yeah, we still go to the same studio, why?"
Ino smirked and turned around to leave as she waved "Perfect… catch up with you later!"
"We have class you lazy pig!"

The girls showed up at Hinata's dance studio exactly at 8 AM, just as Ino had requested. She passed along the message that they had to attend wearing only a pair of black shorts and a sports bra. Sakura glanced at Tenten, the brunette shared the same unsettled look on her face.
The lights on the spacious room where off.
Sakura nudged Ino, this was beyond creepy. The blonde looked at the unsure squad, but just as she was about to suggest they left, the lights turned on: right in the center of the room was Rock Lee in all splendor, he was wearing a green onesie with yellow warmers that reached up until his knees. His impeccable black hair shinned like anything Sakura had ever seen before.
He looked dead serious.
"Ladies…" he approached them with a pronounced dance walk and stopped before them. Dramatically he posed with his arms open wide and legs crossed before each other, his head rotated towards his left side "dance is like a battlefield…" he said as he turned his head over to face them front "…you have to fight for your life, because the music…" he then did a perfect 360-degree turn, "is your opponent…" he went down on one knee with his arms stretched to the ceiling. "You will dance to save your life" he stressed as he got up from his position.
Ino gazed at the girls, wide-open mouths and eyes, she smiled maliciously. Oh yeah … Karin would never know what hit her.

It was now 6:45 PM in the afternoon.
Sakura had crashed into the floor hoping to catch a breath from the Green Beast. If they had thought Karin was a mean dictator, she had nothing on the Rock. Her legs wouldn't take much more of the dancing Lee had prepared for them. She turned her head to the opposite side: Tenten lay just as she was, on her back with her arms stretched out like a star; she was equally breathless.
"Sakura-san!" Lee yelled from the other side of the room, he was going through a few moves with Ino, the blonde looked tired but determined to learn all the steps. Sakura groaned, Karin had messed up with the wrong blonde and there she was, paying for it.
The man dressed in green ran her way and scooped her off the floor. "A beauty like yours shall never be tired of hard training, dancing comes from your soul, I can see yours right now!" Sakura felt her cheeks go red at the speech from the man that apparently had never heard of the concept of eyebrow trimming.
"I shall promise you, I will do my best at training you!" was he…crying? "you will achieve your desired revenge! I will owe it to myself; if not, I will train and dance for seven days straight to improve!".
The Rock let go of Sakura and turned to the others: "Attention everyone! we will now take a minute to let our bodies rest and nurture. Mark me ladies, do not fear, we will continue with our dancing after that- I promised each and one of you…" he said as he pointed to the ten girls in the room with determined eyes " . .COMPETITION!"
Tenten felt herself gain new energy just by listening to the Green Beast; she got up from her position and clapped. "Bring that motherfucker bitch down!" All the other girls followed after her, screaming and clapping. All sweatiness and tiredness forgotten: they had a goal to achieve. Ino smirked as she looked at hertired quad, the girls that had been loyal to her and had gone outside their bodies to defeat the rule of the Evil Imposter; she was proud as fuck of her ladies.

Karin fixed her hair for the sixth time that night, making sure that not a single hair was out of her puffy ponytail. She checked if her makeup was okay; it took her the longest time to get that winged eyeliner just right.
She was so happy. And so nervous. And so proud of her own accomplishments.
She turned around to give her squad the last speech of her life, it was her duty as a captain of the cheerleading team of Konoha High to make sure the spirits of her team here as high as her own. It was the last year for most of them, seniors. They would soon leave to face a whole new chapter of their lifes.
"Listen up girls…" she started, she could tell Ino and her followers were paying little to no attention to her "this is our last competition as Konoha High's cheering squad, we have to win this trophy. So, I want you to sweat it out tonight and don't forget this isn't not about yourselves anymore- it's about the legacy, our names being written in that gold trophy that will remain for years and years to come…" she looked around the faces just to make sure she had everyone's attention. "HAVE I MADE MYSELF CLEAR?".
Half the room answered with a soft 'yes'; the other half stood up and left towards the door. The music was ending, meaning that it was their turn to be out preforming. Ino locked eyes with Sakura; her friend had a confident smile on her face. Tenten squeezed her hand and Temari smirked and nudged her side. The rest of the juniors were excited as well. Karin, Amy and Kira stood at the very back, hand in hand, praying for their win.

'And now … welcome the cheerleading squad of Konoha High School!'
Sakura felt her heart beat like crazy against her chest. They were going to do it. They were going to put their plan in action and have fun, as it was the last time they would wear their KH orange and black cheerleading uniform. With a quick glance to Ino, she ran besides her and for a second, the strong lights of the soccer field blinded her, however she quickly got used to them and jumped greeting the crowd. The stadium was at its fullest, the match between Oto and Konoha, longtime rivals, was an event that could not be missed.
At their soccer's team bench sat the boys. Sakura avoid looking at them, especially at a certain captain, she felt a blush creep up from her neck. They felt into position. The pinkette was sure she could spot a bright green man near the benches. She tensed up her muscles, waiting for the music to start; at the corner of her eye she could see Ino doing the same thing.
5,6,7,8 …
The first beat of the mix Karin had prepared made her react and start the routine. They had to be patient, until they got their chance. Tenten did several backflips in front as the rest of them did a toe-touch in unison. Ino and Temari stood in front and face each other as they did a pike. Sakura quickly rushed at the back of the formation, locked eyes with Tenten and gave her a secure grin; they were preparing Karin for her full lay out twist on air. The plan was about to start…

Naruto was extremely anxious. Oto was a strong opponent; during the year, they had lost three out of the five games they had had against them. The past season they had lost by one goal, he could still remember the anger and disappointment he felt as he saw his enemies take his beloved trophy. Not this time though, he swore. This time the win will be ours…
He watched absentminded as his own cheerleaders preformed that boring routine of theirs. Although he thought the moves Tenten showed before were pretty cool, mostly all those dances were the same to him, that weird beat with messes up lyrics. Boring…
He yawned as he saw Karin flying up the skies doing a strange twist. He turned to Kiba to start a conversation of some sorts but his friend's eyes were wide open watching the field. He looked back and couldn't suppress a yelp as he saw some of the junior cheerleaders carry Karin outside of the field. What the hell was going on?
He glanced at his teammates, even Sasuke seemed to be interested in what was going on. He felt his eyes nearly fall out as he saw Sakura?! and the rest of the girls remove their cheering tops to reveal a black sports bra with a huge orange H tattooed on their stomachs. The strong music from Footlose could be heard on the background; he was startled watching as the girls move in sync to the lyrics.
The girls made a circle around Temari and Tenten as the two girls replicated the dance and jumps from the movie. He could hear the crowd cheering and singing along to it as confetti was thrown into the field.
The beat changed. They stood facing each other; Ino was in the center, pretending to sing the first words to a song. Naruto knew perfectly which song it was: Love is a battlefield. His mom loved to play it whenever she had to clean up the whole house. The blonde walked in the row created by the others and pretended to fight each of them, ending the song with all of them laid out on the floor as if dead.

Ino looked at the crowd, they were screaming like crazy, singing along to the lyrics and dancing. Far to the left she could see the judges of the tournament disapproving stares. Like I care, bitches.

A silence filled the stadium, it broke when a loud sound bounced through the place, it indicated the end of her spotlight; as the sound registered in everybody's head, she fell on the ground with the rest of her teammates. Sakura knew it was her cue. Out of the group she was the worst at doing flips and handstands, but she was with no doubt the best dancer of all of them, that was why Lee had assigned the first dance to her.
The beat of Chris's Brown 'Turn up the music' had her hips moving along to it. It wasn't an easy dance; she needed to concentrate to reach all the moves at the exact time. If you are sexy and you know it…
She walked around the rest of the girls and pretended to sit them up, motioning with her hands; they slowly stood up and danced along with her. Hip, hand, turn, jump, hip. Lee had used the musician's initial dance and twits to it so it would fit them better. The song was ending: they moved into a V shape position and danced to the last beats. Turn up the music; I needed it in my life…
When it ended, they all stood in a circle, facing one another, waiting for the next song to start. When it did, they all clapped to the beat. Their hips moved slowly as the songs beat fastened, the short black skirts moved sensually with them. They dispelled easily into a line, and as the lyrics of the song went, they moved their pelvis back and forward, hand clasped at the back of their heads.

.
Lee gazed at the girls with stars in his eyes. They were the incarnation of beauty, his master piece. He felt the music in his bones, running like fire; he couldn't help himself as he jumped the fence that separated the public from the field and ran straight to the girls.
When I walk on the spot, this is what I see …
Tenten saw a ball of green ran towards them; she was fast enough to move to the side as The Rock positioned himself right in the middle of the line. He faced the public and yelled, "I'M SEXY AND I KNOW IT!" as he moved his pelvis back and forward to the beat.

Sasuke's mouth dropped wide open at the sight of a black-haired man dressed on a green onesie running to meet the rest of the dancers. He positioned himself and started moving his … pelvic area towards the bench of the Konoha soccer players. What the fuck was going on? What was Sakura doing almost naked on the soccer field dancing like a sexy vixen?! He didn't get it, this was supposed to be a serious competition, yet the girls danced like they were having the time of their life without a care.
He turned his head when he heard the loud yell of his ex-girlfriend. Karin was running towards the field, her face matched the red of her hair.
When Sakura and the rest saw her coming, they moved in unison and picked up their pompoms. As the furious girl reached them, the song changed yet again, however this time the girls didn't follow a specific routine as they all danced freely to it. Ino shook her pompoms in front of Karin's face as Amy, who had disappeared shortly after the change of routine, tried to drag her out of the way.
Karin's face was priceless.
Sakura made her way jumping and dancing to the bench of players, she offered her hands to Naruto and Kiba, both males smiled at each other and followed the way to the center of the stadium.
Got nothing in my brain, that's what people say…
Naruto had never heard the song that was playing loudly from the speakers but it was very catchy. Sakura seemed to be improvising some sort of choreography and he run to her side and copied her moves. Kiba had found Ino and they were goofing around as they danced. Lee was enjoying the song as he shook off his whole body to the rhythm.
It's like a got this music in my mind saying it's going to be all right…
Sasuke glanced over at Neji, they were the only ones still sitting at the bench, the Hyuuga had a small smile on his face, at least he had relaxed a bit. He kept his gaze on a certain pink head, the girl rotated her hips to side to side while she danced without a care in the world with her friends. She looked ridiculously cute when she moved her ass like that. The dobe knew how to move too, although he looked more like he was having a seizure than doing the boogie.
Ino gazed up to the sky when she felt the first drop of water fall on her face, shortly enough more drops followed and then it was raining- and she was with her bestest friends in the world dancing on a soccer field. Baby I'm just gonna shake it off… I didn't matter that in a couple of months all of them would part ways to follow their dreams; right know they were happy, free and without a care in the world.
It was going to be all right.

Two and a half hours later, Sasuke Uchiha held in his hands the trophy. The victory had been for Honoha High School. With the sound of the whistle as the announcement, they had won 3-1 to Otokagure, positioning themselves as State Champions of the season. Now the field was full of people celebrating the victory as well as the end of the soccer season. He gave the trophy to Neji as he went to look for a certain someone into the crowd.
"Did you see that, Hinata?! how I managed to get the ball and then, when the Teme couldn't give Neji the pass I-" The Hyuuga, tired of his ramblings took his face with her hands and crashed their lips on a kiss. Sasuke just happened to be walking by them at that very moment and nodded in approval.
The Uchiha went further into the crowd; it was getting even harder to find the pinkette as the rain poured down on them. He made his way to the left and finally got a glimpse of pink; there she was: facing the sky, embracing the rain like a three-year-old kid. He walked up to her until their feets were touching. She opened up her green green eyes and looked at him intently.
Maybe it was all the emotions that came with winning the game of his life or maybe it was the way the girl danced in the rain earlier. He closed his eyes and saw her do the same. And maybe it had been her, or maybe he'd been the one to close the space between them, but when their lips touched and she parted them and reached out with her tongue- and they were drenched in water and sweat in the middle of a soccer field:
Sasuke found that he had never been happier before.
it's 2 AM, this idea came from too much studying, a One Tree Hill episode and too much music. Here's the list with the songs they danced to: Footlose, Love is battlefield, Turn up the music, I'm sexy and I know it, Shake it off.
I decided to turn this into a series of unrelated AU (or related who knows) one shots about this marvelous generation. Enjoy. I will travel soon, which means lots of hours without Wifi and I WILL write, I promess. I have ideas. I always do.
Take care, drop a review if you want more content coming your way,
Al.
