"No, no!" Clara said, running up to him. She didn't want to let go. They hadn't had enough adventures yet, she still hadn't told him! She reached out to him. "Please don't change."
The Doctor smiled. "Clara. My Clara. My impossible girl. We had fun though, didn't we?"
Clara couldn't help the tears fall. She nodded in reply, unable to say anything to him. There was so much she needed to tell him, but they were running out of time. The Doctor noticed her tears. He put his hand on her cheek, and wiped them away.
"Clara, please don't cry," he said, "It'll still be me with you. Travelling along solar systems."
Clara shook her head. "But it won't be you."
"But you can have fun with my next life. It won't make a difference."
"Yes, it will."
"Why?"
"Because I love you!" Clara blurted out. She stuck a hand over her mouth, realising what she had said.
The Doctor's eyes widened in surprise. "You... Love me?" Only one other person had ever loved him before. But that was long ago, with a different face- but this face didn't share those feelings. He had liked Clara from the moment he laid eyes on her. He always got a tingly feeling when she was around. She made him... Happy.
"I shouldn't have said anything," Clara said hurriedly.
The Doctor snapped out of his thoughts. There had only been one other time where he had felt like this. And that was a long time ago. With another face, a different personality. And River... River helped him when he needed it. He fell in and out of love just like that. But he had felt a new spark with Clara, one that he could live with. But that would be over in a matter of minutes.
"Clara- it's fine. And if it's the last time I get to say it... As me... Clara Oswald. I love you too."
Clara smiled. "That's all I needed to hear." She stood on her tiptoes, and closed the gap between them. It was short, but sweet, and everything that they couldn't say in that short time was poured out in an instant.
"I just wished I had more time with you," The Doctor finished. He gave her one last smile, then in a split second he had changed. There was a new man in his place, an older man. Words were exchanged, but Clara was only half listening. All she knew was that she had to fly the TARDIS, because the Doctor had somehow forgotten. But Clara could only think of one thing.
"He's gone."
"I can't love you like he did."
The Doctor and Clara were outside her apartment building. They had managed to land an out-of-control-TARDIS, at the very last second. After the events, all Clara wanted to do was sit down.
"I know," She replied, "And I can live with that. You may not be my Doctor. But you're still my Doctor. The one that saves me from everything. See you next Wednesday?"
The Doctor smiled. "Definitely."
Clara put her hand on the handle of the door, before turning back. "By the way, I love your Scottish accent. It's a nice touch."
She walked into the apartment, smiling to herself. The Doctor walked back to the TARDIS, thinking to himself. He looked back at Clara's apartment before climbing into his TARDIS. "My impossible girl," he muttered, before setting off through time and space.
AN: So, i wasn't planning on having the ending, but I thought that we could have a Twelfth Doctor and Clara moment. But I hope you liked it and... Yeah
