Author's note: This fanfiction is a tribute to that poor bug from the very first Pokémon games, that never got the chance to become a real Pokémon, even though it used to be so awesome and almost everyone, who played the first games know it. I always found it very sad, that nintendo just 'corrected' it in the following editions instead of giving it a proper place in the Pokedex.

„Who am I?"
„You are none."
„But I AM!"
„You are not."
„Why am I?"
„You were not supposed to be."
„But I..."
„You don't even have a number. You are zero. Non-existent."
„Then How did I come to be?"
„You were a failure, a bug, wrong data in the system."
„But there must be a reason!"
„No. You have no purpose at all. You are useless."
„No. NO. NO! I'll find my purpose! Just you see!"
„Don't do it! You are not supposed to meddle with those, who exist! You will cause problems! You are a disturbance!"
„I won't listen! Shut up! Go away! Leave me alone!"

„Have you heard the rumors?"
„There is a place near the water. They say you can multiply your items there."
„They say, you must search for the unknown pokemon."
„Search for the Pokemon with the missing number."
„The missing number."
„The Missingno."

„Hello!"
„Who are you?"
„I'm a Trainer. And you are..."
„I am none."
„No~! Silly! You are Missingno! The unknown pokemon! Everyone is talking about you!"
„They are? What are they saying."
„You help them multiplying their items. You are the Unknown."
„But I don't even have a number!"
„Tihihi! Silly! Don't you know, that zero is a number, too?"
„It is?"
„Yes! Do you want to come with me? We can be friends!"

„This is it! This is my purpose!"

„You hear me? I found my purpose!"

"I am the unknown pokemon! And I am friends with a trainer!"

„YOU HEAR ME!"„...what have you done?"
„What do you mean? ...No. NO!"

„Did you hear!"
„Unbelievable isn't it?"
„She just wanted to try and catch the unknown pokemon!"
„Who would have known, that catching a Missingno would cause so much problems?"
„I heard her Pokedex caught fire. The zero caused a massive overheating in the systems."
„In the middle of the night!"
„Poor thing."
„Her Pokemon tried to save her, but..."
„Too late. What a shame."

„You heard the rumors?"
„There's an unknown pokemon near the waters."
„Missingno will multiply your items, when you beat it."
„But don't try to catch it. NEVER!"

„Are you happy now?"

„You have a name, a number, a purpose. You exist."

„Well, are you?"
„Why did I come to be? I would have been better of, never being at all."
„That is, what you are. A failure. The unknown pokemon. The missing number. In a system, that starts to count from one, you are zero. The one that is not supposed to be."
"..."

"You are Missingno."

I know it's no great peace of art. But that was, what came to my mind, when I thought, How Missingno would have felt, after being completely denied existance. ):
