Childhood's End?
Reuniting an unharmed child with his mother was just about the highlight of Dean's year. The boy paused and turned around. "You're my hero!" he declared.
"You're pretty awesome yourself, kiddo," replied Dean, his eyes crinkling.
An elderly passerby smiled at the heartwarming scene. "They grow up so fast," she sighed.
Dean nodded, not bothering to correct her obvious assumption. He glanced across at his brother returning with juggled coffees, notes, and a cellphone wedged between his ear and one enormous shoulder, seemingly arranging their next hunt.
He turned back to the woman. "But you never stop worrying about them."
