It was a nice day in Pallet Town. Red was watching TV. A battle of Gengar vs Nidorino was on. Red was cheering for Gengar, who, unknown to him, was controlled by Marisa Kirisame.

Red was having a blast just watching the battles, however, he had yet to see what the future held for him. Everywhere he would go, everyone he will meet, and every badge and Pokemon he would earn. Little did he realize that he was the subject of a 1000 year old prophecy, and that he would have to save the world. Red wears a red and white hat and vest, a black shird, blue jeans, a yellow bag and red, white and black shoes.

"Red!" His mother yelled out to him, "Professor Oak wanted to see you!". "Really? Professor Oak?" Red Asked. Professor Oak was the walking Pokemon encyclopedia. He knew everything about Pokemon, and is always willing to share knowledge with anyone he can.

Red gathered his things and ran out the door. He ran to the lab, when he was suddenly stopped by his rival, Blue. "Hey, Red. Whacha doing? Heading to Gramp's Lab?" Blue said. "Yeah. So, are you going to Oak's lab as well?", Red replied. "Yeah, it's over there. I heard him saying that he needed you for something". "Wouldn't he call you too if you're coming?". "He did, and so I came. Daisy told me about that.". "Oh, okay".

Red and Blue ran to Oak's lab, pushing and shoving each other into the lab. Once they arrived, Professor Oak waited there, and started greeting them. "Hello, Red. Hello, Blue. Welcome to my lab! You two, come closer. I need to tell you something". Red and Blue came closer to Professor Oak. "Oh, good. Now, let me show you these!". Three Pokeballs appeared from a machine from the wall. "These are the starter Pokemon I have for you. These are Charmander, Bulbasaur and Squirtle. They are the Pokemon I give to all new trainers. Since there's only two of you here, I've called somebody else to come and take the last Pokemon. However, they'll take a bit of time to get here, so you can take the first two.".

Red and Blue looked over the three Pokeballs, wondering which one to choose. "So, Red", Blue asked, "Which one will you choose?". Red replied with "I was named Red by my father, who wanted my spirit to burn like a fire, so I'll choose Charmander!". Blue gave a little smirk, and went to Squirtle. "Oh, yeah? Well, I'll choose Squirtle!".

Professor Oak put Bulbasaur back into it's Pokeball for later, and looked at the two. "Well, you two, it's time to get going! I'll be seeing you later!". Before Red left, Professor Oak called out to Red, "Red! You're going to Viridian City, right?". "Yes, that's where I was going.", Red replied. "Okay. I'll need to ask you to do a favour for me. In the Pokemart is my special Package. It came in from the Kalos region. Would you mind getting it for me?". "Yeah, alright. I have time.".

Red left the lab, and a few seconds later, a grey cat appeared. "D...did I arrive on time? Do I get my Pokemon now, bonbon?", she said. "Ah, you're on time. Red and Blue just left, so I only have Bulbasaur left. Would that be okay with you?", Oak replied. The cat spoke again, "Y...yes. I w...would...".
