Tears streamed down Silver the hedgehog's face.
"Why…………Why couldn't Iblis have accepted me as the seal……WHY DID BLAZE HAVE TO GO!?" Silver wailed. He had been deeply depressed ever since Blaze had been absorbed by Iblis 1 month ago. He left his home in Station Square for a while to drown out his sorrows at Kingdom Valley.
He splashed water against his eyes to calm down. Then he saw a flame at the other side of the river. He rubbed his eyes and looked again. It was still there!
"A FOREST FIRE!" Silver gasped. He levitated to the other side of the river. He cupped his hands together and began pelting the flames with water. On his 5th trip over, he tripped on a rock and fell into the fire. "AHH! So this is what dying feels like? Painless? At least I'll see Blaze once again." He opened his eyes. He imagined Heaven to be fluffy white clouds and for heck to be lava rocks and volcanoes. All he saw was a face full of dirt. He stood up. He leapt back when he saw that he was in the flames.
After a few seconds of gawking, he noticed a body begin to form. First a head materialized. Then a body, arms and legs.
"Silver…" A familiar voice came from the flames. "Run! NOW!"
The voice had warned him right as a bullet soared past his head.
"YIPE!" He yelped. He sprinted into the stream. When he reached shore, he was shot in the leg, behind his kneecap. "AGH!" He grunted as he tripped and twisted his ankle. Although the pain was excruciating, he made the effort to stand, knowing that he was too vulnerable already.
"Target mistaken; Return to base!" a large android said.
"What the flip…" Silver thought aloud. "was THAT about?"
