Awkward Moment
Summary: Vincent and Rufus have a very awkward conversation about a mistake Reno made, and Rufus gets an idea. Some not so subtle hints of RufusVincent.

Rufus shifted in his chair, trying to get up the courage to say what he had been trying to ask Vincent all day. He was the only one that he could ask about something like this. Most likely he'd gone through the same thing at one point in his life.
"Rufus, what have you been trying to ask me already?" Vincent asked, "I don't have all day you know"
"Um… Vincent…" Rufus started, "…Have you ever been…"
"Have I ever been what?" Vincent asked, starting to get very annoyed with the younger male.
"Have you ever been mistaken for a woman?" Rufus asked.
Vincent was a bit taken back by the question. Why was Rufus asking him this? "Well one time," he answered, looking down, "Why? Wait, have you ever…?"
"One time Reno thought I was a girl from the back," Rufus answered, he sounded pretty embarrassed about it, "Is that normal?"
"Rufus, of course it is. It's Reno we're talking about after all" Vincent answered, rolling his eyes. Reno couldn't tell a girl from an effeminate man at all.
"You're right!" Rufus realized, "In fact, one time when he was drunk, he thought that Rude was a girl!"
That was enough for Vincent to burst out laughing. "He thought that RUDE was a GIRL!?" he laughed, holding onto the desk for support, "Holy shit! He'd have to be pretty drunk"
"But you know, if you were wearing a dress, I don't think anyone would be able to tell you were a guy" Rufus mused. Then an idea popped into his head.
"Oh no, I know that look," Vincent said, sensing what Rufus had planned, "I'm not doing it"
"But Vinny, you don't even know what it is" Rufus said.
"Well I know it can't be any good" Vincent said. He'd known Rufus long enough to know when Rufus was coming up with one of his crazy plans that would result in utter embarrassment.
"C'mon, Vincent, it'll be fun" Rufus pleaded, giving Vincent his best puppy dog eyes.
"Last time you said that, we were caught by Tseng!" Vincent said, "But if it will shut you up, fine!"
I just think that they make a cute couple. I don't know why, but I think so.
