Arthur and Molly Weasley beamed at the little girl playing with a scrap of wool on the living room floor. Unaware of her audience, the child of six months clapped her hands delightedly as the string floated into her lap.
Stepping closer, Molly caught her daughter's attention and said, 'Mama. Can you say Mama, Ginny? Ma-ma-ma-mah!'
Big brown eyes gazed back at her, nonplussed. Molly frowned.
Arthur took this as his cue, 'Gin-girl, where's Dada? Say Dada, sugarplum.'
A big smile revealed a tiny bump of a tooth, but no words came. Arthur sighed.
From the yard, shouts of laughter could be heard, along with a sudden wail. It grew in strength until a little boy stumbled in the door, cradling a hand that was grazed and dirty.
'Mummy – Fwed an' George Mummy, owwww!'
The injured hand was thrust under Molly's nose, but before she could muster up any words of comfort, a little voice squealed, 'Won! Wonwonwonwonwon…'
Ginny reached her hands and the boy put on a brave face. 'M'okay, Gin-gin. Play game?'
Ron hunched down and rolled a ball of wool to his little sister, oblivious now to his parents whispering.
'Really, how could she say Ron before Mama?' Molly demanded, as they headed outside to find the rest of their burgeoning family.
'One syllable, Molly dear…'
'Yes.' Molly was quiet for a minute. 'Yes, that must be it. I'll be next then.'
'I wouldn't be so sure.'
'Arthur!'
