Anne was known for having a good bow on her forecastle. She wasn't named for a queen nor one of the most feared ships of her time for nothing. She knew when to fight and she knew when to run. But all that reason fled as this thing rose up before her. Anne had never seen anything like this hideous creature. It warped and formed itself into the approximate shape of a ship in a manner similar to herself when she felt the pull of her captain's sword. The power that radiated off of it chilled her. This was a creature of the abyss, its wrongness screaming all things evil to her. All her sense fled and she longed to flee with it but the thing held her in its stare. If it could just let go, look away for just one second...
"My name is Silent Mary." The creature spoke, something black and fluid like spitting from her mouth with each word. Anne suppressed her shudder. "And I am looking for a Sparrow."
Anne gave a nervous laugh. "You're in the wrong element then dearie. Sparrow's don't fly out to sea."
She stiffened as one of Mary's rigging lines slapped her soundly across her bowsprit. A second one wrapped itself around her bow, pulling her in close. She shivered and tried to recoil as those slimy ribs brushed against her side.
"Perhaps no ship told you that I have no patience for humorous lies." Mary's voice remained calm but the undercurrent was there. A current that told Anne she'd be drowning in it real soon if she didn't start talking. "Now I will ask one last time. Where is Sparrow?"
Anne knew. Oh yes she did know. Pearl had been trusting enough to her to provide their projected course. After what she had done to the dark ship, Anne felt honored she trusted her so. And she would not betray that trust. They say Dead Men Tell No Tales.
Swallowing back her fear, Anne tilted her head to meet Mary's eyes. The blue orbs were as cold as ice, their gaze just as unforgiving. There was a glow there, indicating that whatever, whoever this ship used to be, had perished long ago. She was corrupted, not more than a demon from hell possessing some poor lost soul's body.
"I'll never tell you. You fiend of hell! Go back to wheres thou came!" She snarled, landing a blow against that gray skeleton hull.
Mary snarled and returned Anne's defiance with harsh justice. A broadside tore into the frigate and Anne rolled on her side, gasping and crying from the pain. "One last chance." Mary growled, weapons aimed to finish her off.
Despite her agony, Anne grinned up at her. Her fate was inevitable now, whether Mary decided to end it now or leave her to die. Her wounds were mortal, too severe for her to survive for long on the open sea.
Mary grabbed Anne's face, forcing the other ship to look at her. She could see the defiance blazing in that gaze and a small part of her admired this ship's courage. She had to give credit where it was due, even to an opponent. She already knew what Anne's answer would be and readied her guns accordingly, but she asked her question anyway. For her own sanity if nothing else.
"Tell me where Captain Jack Sparrow and his treacherous dark ship the Black Pearl are." She ordered.
A bit of blood trickled from the corner of her mouth and Anne's tongue flicked out to touch it briefly before her green eyes hardened, narrowing into fine determined slits. "Never!" She rasped.
The last thing Queen Anne's Revenge saw were the fangs of Silent Mary. A scream erupted the frigate, a fountain of blood, a flash of fire and the infamous pirate ship was left to sink to the inky blue depths of the Caribbean. And she took the secret of Pearl's whereabouts with her.
