"Come on Tobi! Run!" I called as I looked over my shoulder to watch my partner trying to keep up.
"Senpai! Slow down!" he called between pants. Before I could answer, I looked ahead of me and saw our attacker. I immediatly stopped and threw several kunai at the man. He jumped out of the way with inhuman speed. Tobi jumped to my side and caught his breath.
"Keep your eye open, he could be anywhere." I quickly pulled out some C4 clay and went as fast as I could to combind my chakra with the clay. But as I was near finished, the enemy jumped in front of Tobi and kicked him, sending him several feet back. "Tobi! Get off your butt and fight like you mean it!"
"Tobi didnt see..." he jumped up and started fighting Tai-jutsu with the enemy. Unfortunately, that and running was all Tobi could do. After a few hard blows, Tobi nailed the man in the gut with a right-arm uppercut.
"Good boy Tobi!" I formed the clay into a spider sculpture and activated it. But, as soon as it went toward the man, Tobi jumped in the way. "Tobi!" But then I realized Tobi was using himself to plant the bomb on the man. When he succeeded, he took off running. "Katsu!" the bomb went off and the man ripped in two. After the dust settled, Tobi and I walked up to the corpse, but, it wasnt.
"A substitution jutsu! Senpai!!" Tobi began to panic.
"Calm down Tobi, we'll find him." I hoped we would. Thats when he jumped out of no where.
"Senpai!" Tobi shouted then, jumped in the way of the attack. I could only stare until I came to my senses. There, stood Tobi, inches in front of me, with a katana and kunai in his chest.
"Haha! One down, one to go!" he man laughed, pulling his weapons out of my partner. I grew furious and tears formed in my eyes. I pulled out a kunai and stabbed the man in the shoulder. The man coughed up blood, and I saw the reason why. Tobi, even though on the ground, stabbed him in the chest.
"T-tobi..." tears welt up in my eyes and I threw myself next to my fallen partner.
"We got him Senpai.." Tobi laughed weakly. Even when at death's gates, he still was a chirpy, happy nin.
I cried even harder and craddled my partner's head in my arms. "Why? Why did you do that Tobi?"
"Because." I could not help myself, I grabbed his mask and pulled it off. His face, his face enchanted me. It was both peaceful and war torn. Healed scars were visible on his face. But one caught my attention: it ran over his left eye where a patch covered the eye. I leaned forward and kissed my partner tenderly, and cried even more.
"Please Senpai, dont be sad." Tobi smiled weakly, but coughed up blood. My heart felt as if it were stabbed and I held him tighter. Tobi sat up slowly and held me closely. "I love you." Blood dripped from his mouth and landed on my hair, which made me shudder and tear up even more. Then, his grip on my loosened. He began to fall back, but I caught him instantly.
"Tobi, dont die on me. Tobi?" I stared at him and waited for an answer, but all I got, was a small smile and an empty stare.
