Yang pushed the door to the dorm room open. She winced. Her side hurt. Her everything hurt. She groaned in pain. The dorm was empty. Blake and Ruby were out on a date and Weiss was in the library studying.
Or at least she should have been.
Yang closed the door and rubbed her hand over her eyes. Blood crusted her face and she had bruises spotted all over her body. She was so tired. All she wanted was to lay down and sleep. Slowly she trudged towards the bathroom before she could open the door the dorm room opened and Weiss strut in, several books in her arms. Yang froze.
Weiss didn't notice her right away, setting her books down and shuffling her papers. Yang was frozen in place to afraid to breath. No one could see her like this. Just as she was about to move when Weiss turned around. Ice blue eyes met purple. Weiss narrowed her eyes and stalked forward. Hooking her fingers in the collar of Yangs shirt she yanked her down and stared intently at her face. Yang frowned and tried to jerk away. Weiss gave a tug to keep her in place. She expected some snide remark but instead Weiss flicked her eyes towards the bed. "Sit."
Yang was too tired to fight her. Slowly she followed the instructions she was given. She dropped down on the heiress' bed and rubbed tiredly at her eyes. Weiss returned shortly. She knelt in front of Yang and tilted her chin up. Slowly she started to clean the blood from her face. Yang stayed silent, occasionally wincing when she brushed against a particularly sensitive spot.
Once her face was clean and the rag was bloodied Weiss stood and silently stalked into the bathroom.
She returned with a cream in her hands. "Take you shirt off." Yang did as she was told silently. She missed Weiss' concerned frown.
She was worried for her blonde teammate. She hadn't said a word since Weiss had found her standing there, bloodied and bruised, her eyes filled with that tortured look in her eyes. Weiss had never seen Yang like this. If she was being honest she was a little scared.
With Yang's shirt off she could see all the bruises. The dotted and almost covered her torso.
"You big dumb idiot." Weiss said softly. Yang gave a noncommittal shrug. She got on the bed and positioned herself behind Yang, slowly she started to rub the bruise cream onto her skin. Yang flinched every time she hit a sore spot and a few noise slipped out from behind her tightly pressed lips.
Weiss finished as quickly as she could. Yang pulled her shirt back on and Weiss left to put the cream away. When she returned Yang was slowly making her way to climb into her bed.
Before her brain could catch up she called out. "Wait" Yang paused and looked at her, eyes still full of pain. Weiss didn't know, she didn't think it was her place to pry. All she knew is Yang wouldn't let her go that easy if it was her. Slowly she walked forward. Yang eyed her, for the first time Weiss had met her, nervous and skittish. Slowly Weiss put her arms around the taller girl.
Yang froze for a solid six seconds before she slowly relaxed and returned the embrace. She shook in her arms. Weiss held her, as Yang slowly relaxed, tucking her face into her neck. They stood there until Yang's legs started to shake. Weiss pushed her onto her bed, Yang flopped backwards, sad tired eyes staring up at her questioningly.
"You'd do it for me." Weiss explained softly. She crawled onto the bed with Yang and curled up against her. Yang rolled over and immediately cradled Weiss to her, snuggling into her and hold her, much like the smaller girl was a large teddy bear for her. Weiss let her.
They lay in silence for a while, Yang's breathing slowly starting to even out. Weiss still had question and she was definitely going to get them. But it could wait until tomorrow.
Weiss thought Yang had fallen asleep, her grip was slack and her chest rose and fell slowly. Weiss slowly let her own eyes close. Something inside her spurred to press forward and press a soft kiss to the blonde's forehead. She was just about to drift off when Yang's voice, sleepy and muffled from being buried against her chest called.
"What?"
Yang lifted her face slightly. "Thank you" she repeated. Weis shrugged.
"I still expect answers." Yang nodded and cuddled back in. "but until then rest." Yang nodded tiredly.
Yang was out cold in the next five minutes. Weiss pressed another soft kiss to her forehead and let herself drift off, warm and held tightly in strong arms.
