Chapter one - Welcome to the World

"Down Sammy!" Deans' voice rang through the room, making Sam freeze for only a second before his hunter instincts jumped into action and he ducked down towards the old dirty, wooden floor of the haunted house they had been tiredly investigating for the last week. As soon as he was on his knees, Dean swung his arms around and swiped the iron pole he held through the approaching ghost which appeared as a young girl in an eerie white dress. Doing a role to the side, Sam jumped to his feet again and stood beside his older brothers watching the ghost girl fade away with an echoing scream of what seemed like pain.

"That won't keep it away for long" Sam stated with a frown as he looked around for the salt which fell out of his pocket, quickly snatching it up he held it to his body tightly.

"She's coming back for her tea party" Dean looked around for any sign of her before pushing Sam away and watching as his brother threw salt at the ghost which swiped out between them only inches from their heads. "Let's go, her grave is out the back of the house!" Dean commanded and began sprinting through the living room door and out to the back door where an old oak tree cast a shadow over the house as if it was caressing the walls of the old house. Sam hurried after him, ducking when the girl followed him an angry roar leaving her small throat.

"Does she ever shut up?" He complained joining his brothers' side beside the small tombstone while Dean pulled out a shovel and began furiously shoveling away the dirt.

"Watch my back, I'll do this" Dean nodded towards him and kept digging furiously, dirt flying around the large garden, some hitting Sam's' back.

"Hurry up" Sam glanced behind him before turning around towards the house again looking for the demonic ghost.

"Trying, unless you wanna swap?" His brother grunted his face already starting to form beads of sweat rolling down his tightened jaw. Looking up for a moment to watch Sam swat away the appearing ghost, he frowned as Sam flew hitting the tree.

"Just hurry!" Sam saw him twitch to jump out of the grave to run and help him, but that wouldn't hurry things along at all.

Quickly throwing away the shovel, Dean climbed out of the grave and poured gasoline into the grave covering the bones inside. Salting it afterwards he lit a match with a few strikes and threw it inside before hurrying to Sam's' side "That bitch needed to get back on her naughty step" He huffed helping Sam up after the hold on him was lifted and he fell to the ground breathing heavily for air.

"Y-Yea" The taller man chuckled and stood dusting himself off "Good that I know a bit about Japanese history, they must've followed the tradition to plant a tree at their child's grave" He smiled in relieve.

"And now I'll follow my tradition of going to the bar and picking up some chicks"

After filling up the small grave again and starting the impala, the two brothers headed towards the nearest bar dirt sill covering their tired, worn out clothes. "Dean?" Sam hesitated to ask and kept his eyes forward looking out at the dark, country road.

"What?" He glanced at him before turning his green tinted eyes back to the foggy road ahead, holding the steering wheel of his beloved impala leisurely.

"…nothing" Sam decided to leave it for today and shook his head chuckling to himself "I'm just glad this case is over, I need a break"

"Yea, you're telling me man. I can't wait for some action tonight" He smirked and chuckled as well taking a corner and arriving at an old bar soon after. Parking the impala near the front of the bar, he shut off the purring engine and patted Sam's dusty jacked, "You need to wash" he remarked, wiping the dust back onto Sam's shirt before getting out. When they entered the small, roadside bar, the smell of alcohol, sex and sweat overtook their senses instantly "Ah, the smell of home" Dean took a deep breath and grinned heading towards the bar area.

"So ladies, anyone wanna buy me a drink?" Dean grinned sliding himself into a seat at the bar, the woman on either side of him gave each other a questioning look before shaking their heads and walking away without another word. Shocked and disappointed, Dean grunted in displeasure.

"You look like you've just been rolling around in a pile of ash and dirt, and…" Sam took in a breath and coughed "You smell like it too, no wonder they ran for it" He laughed and sat beside him ordering two beers for them leaning his elbows onto the counter. Rolling his eyes at the remark, Dean sighed and picked up the beer bottle as soon as it arrived and took a long swig.

"At least I've got my baby" He shrugged "I don't need woman anyway" Dean added glancing around the quiet bar, the only thing that caught his eye was a group of young guys, obviously out here to get drunk and be stupid. It reminded him of himself, when he was younger. However, the older woman only two booths away from him stood out even more, she was dark skinned and clothed in what he considered like something out of a fairy tale. All brown and neutral with her hair grown into long, flowing dread locks. He almost jumped as her deep eyes turned to him, was she…glaring at him? Uncomfortable from her stare, Dean turned away shaking his head.

"I never knew voodoo priestesses came to bars" Sam spoke up again making Dean turn to him, "That woman, she's a well-known priestess" He nodded towards the woman who still seemed to be staring Dean down, analysing and almost scanning through him for something.

"Of course you'd know that" Dean rolled his eyes, his brother always was a nerd. Although, he was good to have on hunts since he knew a lot about the detail of monsters and the supernatural. "She's freaking me out" He shuddered and drank some more of his beer.

"Maybe we should talk to her, she seems interested in you Dean" Sam grinned at him and chuckled nudging his arm suggestively.

"Ew, that's disgusting" The older Winchester shook his head, making a face of disgust at the vile suggestion. Sam only laughed at the look on his face and turned away again, going back to his own thoughts. "I don't think I have a choice now" Watching her stand, Dean shuffled in his seat glancing at Sam nervously. She headed straight for him.

"Good luck in the Future, Winchesters" The words made his head turn to her in surprise.

"How do you-!?" She only laughed and patted both their shoulders before pressing a small card onto the counter and walking away, a looming aura seemed to follow her every step, making them both shudder with unease. "What the hell was that?" Dean asked blinking as he watched her walk past his Impala dragging a hand over the hood.

"Don't worry, she's probably connected to hunters or something" Sam tried to reassure him with those words and drank the last of his beer.

"I don't like anyone touching my Impala Sam, you know that" Dean grumbled annoyed that she touched the hood with her probably, dirty hands.

"You seriously need a girlfriend-" Stopping mid-sentence, Sam watched as the pack of teenagers stumbled out the door, his eyes following the one in front as he watched the Impala with hazy eyes for a moment before walking towards it a laugh leaving him, in turn making his friends laugh and follow him. "Not good" before Sam could stand, Dean slammed money onto the counter and raced outside to save his beloved car. "Dean wait!"

As soon as the first guy jumped onto the black hood and sprawled out with a grin, Dean was by his side grabbing a hold of the boys' leg and pulling him off with a hard tug, rage clearly burning in the hunters' eyes. "Touch her again and you're dead!" He growled dangerously low, making the group back off, the boy who had been dragged off the hood of the car already standing and swinging a drunken first at him. Ducking easily, Dean simply lifted his arm and elbowed him in the face, affectively knocking him out cold, a broken nose clearly seen with the blood which tickled down his chin.

"Dean, calm down!" Sam hurried over and stood in front of the teenager stopping his brother from causing him any further harm.

"He touched my baby, it's what he deserves!" Dean growled in return and huffed turning towards his car, dusting away imaginary dirt and ensuring there weren't any scratches.

"That doesn't mean you need to kill the guy" The younger Winchester crouched down and made sure he wasn't dead before lifting him and heading back inside the bar to set the boy into a booth ensuring the other group members were looking after him "I'm so sorry about this, my brother is a little…obsessed" He laughed awkwardly before giving them some money "Let's put this behind us" he smiled before walking back to the impala, smacking the back of Deans head.

"What was that for?" So caught up in checking his car, he hadn't even noticed his brother leave or return so when he was hit, Dean grunted and rubbed his head annoyed.

"You attacked some drunk kids Dean, it attracts too much attention, you seriously need to calm down" Sam explained and rolled his eyes getting into the passenger side of the car slamming the door shut.

"Oi, careful with her. She needs a lot of attention and care and no kid is gonna hurt her" He warned patting the roof of his baby before getting inside running a hand over the steering wheel as if he hadn't seen his precious baby in years.

"I swear people would think she was alive" Sam leaned his head against the window getting a little tired of Deans obsession with talking about the Impala like she was an actual human being.

By the time the duo reached the motel on the way back to Bobby's' it was already two in the morning, the moonlight which eliminated the ground below made the thickening fog appear like a thick blanket of cotton wool, almost so dense you couldn't see one meter in front of you, it was like something from a horror movie.

"You wanna shower first or can I?" Dean asked, closing the motel door behind them and throwing his brown duffel bag onto one of the single beds in the medium sized room. Taking a moment to look around the room which smelled like bleach he yawned and stretched.

"You can go, I'm gonna look some things up about this voodoo lady" Sam waved him off, already having thrown his bag down and settled at the table, his laptop open and search engine filled with results of his search.

"Ok geek, have fun" The older Winchester ruffled his hair teasingly before entering the small bathroom which barely contained a shower, toilet and the smallest sink imaginable. Unzipping his trousers, he managed to undress out of his grubby clothes rather quickly, putting them aside to wash before he stepped into the shower turning on the stream of water and washing off the dirt which had gathered throughout the day.

Sam, as he searched hadn't even noticed the light which poured through the curtain concealed window beside him, so caught up about the information he found about the high priestess his head only turned when he heard a small shuffling of cobblestones outside. Shrugging as he didn't notice anything out of the ordinary, he came to the conclusion that it was an animal running by. They were out on the roads so it wasn't surprising.

"Hey Sammy, do you have any money left to bring our clothes to the wash later?" Dean emerged after around ten minutes, a cloud of steam following him out the open bathroom door. Water still covering his bare chest and legs, with his hair ruffled and damp any girl would've swooned of the sight of him in nothing but a towel.

"Yea, I'll go tomorrow morning" He waved him away concentrating on his research rather than his older brother strutting around the room looking for a clean set of clothes.

"I'm gonna check on baby" Dean mumbled after pulling on a pair of loose jeans and opened the door to make sure his Impala was comfortable in the parking lot, but the problem was. She wasn't there. "Sam!" He exclaimed in panic and ran out, not caring about his half naked body, to search around for any signs of her. Tracks, marks, anything that would show she was close. "Sam where is she?! What happened?!" He yelled, making Sam jump from his seat, abandoning his laptop to join his brother startled to see no sign of their beloved car.

"What the- I didn't even hear any sign of a broken entry, not even the sound of her starting" He was as baffled as Dean was, their eyes looking around confused before they turned to each other again, eyebrows raised. "Dean-"

"Goddamit Sam, were you really so into your research you didn't hear her get kidnapped?!" He growled waving his arms around "This is on you, we better find her!" pointing a finger at him warningly he stormed back inside slamming the door after him angrily and searching for his gun.

"Dean I'm sorry, I swear I didn't hear anything, this is impossible" Sam sighed and followed him closing the door after him slowly, hoping his brother hadn't broken it and added another bill to their list of pay offs.

"Yea well it did!" Dean held up his gun and glared at Sam angrily, his beautiful car, which he had gotten from his Father as a last present and the only thing he had ever called or considered home was gone.

"Don't, don't go out now, you won't see anything it's too dark out there" Sam shook his head stepping out in front of the door to stop Dean from opening the door. He'd only exhaust himself more by searching, and probably get lost in the process with all the fog "We'll go out tomorrow and search okay?" he smile hopefully not moving an inch when Deans eyes stared him down.

Before Dean could utter another word however, a small, ever so faint knock entered his ears. Who at this time…would knock at their door? Both turned their heads towards the door confused and waited until they heard it again. Sam moved aside and was about to reach towards the doorknob, but Dean beat him to it, tearing the wooden door open and pointing the gun at whoever was on the other side. "If these are the thief's I'm gonna make them wish they'd-"Cutting himself off, his mouth hung open.

"What the-" Sam stuttered startled by the sight of a woman in front of them, a naked one at that.

"Get that thing out of my face Dean or I won't be so friendly" The woman retorted rolling her eyes and pushed the gun away from her face before stepping inside and walking past them, her arms crossed over her chest a frown laying across her flawless, radiant face. How could someone look so…smooth? Almost like the exterior of a brand new car. Dean and Sam couldn't do anything than stare, watching her sitting and pulling on one of Sam's giant shirts with a huff.

"Who…who are you exactly?" Dean asked a frown reflecting her own spreading across his face, somehow she seemed…familiar. And why the hell was she naked?! Looking through his bag nevertheless.

"And how do you know us?!" Sam added to Deans question taking a step forward, was that…a tattoo? It was an image of a soldier…a toy soldier tattooed onto her collarbone, just like Deans', the one he stuffed down the side of the…Impala.

Rolling her eyes again, the woman flicked her black hair that reflected a dark silver which cascaded down her slender frame, over her shoulder and onto her back, revealing a necklace she wore. It was probably the only thing on her, and it was a necklace containing three Lego bricks, a blue, a red and a yellow one, the ones Dean had shoved into the air-vents as a kid. "Really, you don't recognize me?" she rested her chin on the palm of her hand looking at them both like she'd known them for years.

"We've never seen you before in our lives" Dean swallowed a lump in his throat when realization dawned on him, this woman, a beautiful one at that, she couldn't be. It was impossible.

"You can't even recognize your own baby?" Hey grey eyes which looked like a galaxy swirling and turning with a light he had never seen before, turned to Dean a questioning look on her flawless face. He couldn't take his eyes off the way her plump, perfectly sized kissable pink lips moved when she uttered those syllables.

"My…." Dean's eyes widened at the same time as Sam's did, no. "Hold on, that's impossible" His hands rose in front of him as he laughed, this was a joke. A terrible, terrible joke. She must be working with the people who stole her car and casted a woman who looked like her to do this, that could be the only possible explanation.

"But the possibility is still running through your head, isn't it?" She mused slyly her lips turning up into a small smile that made her already perfect face light up into that of an angel, but Dean knew, she was far from it. "I'm not lying, I wouldn't do that to you, to either of you. You're my family as annoying as that is" She added and shrugged standing up slowly, stretching her seemingly newly formed body out in front of them. It made Deans mouth dry up, how could this woman, be his Impala?

"Prove it" Dean stated making Sam blink and turn to him.

"You can't be serious Dean, it's impossible" He frowned, this couldn't be true, their car, a human being. This was like something from his brother's weird fantasies.

"Let her try Sam" Dean cut him off not taking his eyes of the girl in front of them. That's all she needed to hear.

"Alright then" A grin spreading over her face, the girl adjusted herself and tucked a strand of stray hair behind her ear revealing two strands of yellow and read underneath. "First of all I have these" Showing them the necklace and tattoo didn't impress Dean.

"Anyone could have those, they're popular" He shook his head the frown on his face never wavering, if this was a joke, it was a sick one.

"Okay then, I also have this" Standing up, the woman turned lifting the shirt she wore to reveal a tattoo of the registration sign, the same as the one of the Impala on the skin above her tailbone. Before Sam could object that she had maybe followed them, she lifted she shirt further to reveal two, deep set scars "They're initials…the ones you carved into me when you were both young" She mumbled quietly, her eyes holding a sadness Dean hadn't spotted before. "One of the last times the both of you were children, real children" His eyes flickered upwards at the sound of her voice, was that…sorrow?

"You two never did have a proper childhood…" Of course, she didn't blame that on them, not even their mother, it was Johns' fault, with his obsessiveness of finding the killer of their mother and the way he used his children to reach his only goal in life, they had such a rough upbringing it tore out almost every piece of innocence a child should have held, the fun, games and laughter that had turned into only tears and terror for them both.

Slowly pulling the shirt down again which barely covered anything below her ass, she sat again looking down at her human knees, this was all so strange, so new. And these emotions…she could barely stand with the way they hit her so hard. "I hated that man, he did nothing but hurt you, sometimes I wished I could've driven him into a lake…" she wasn't proud of what she was saying, it hurt them both to hear such things about the only person they had looked up to from when they were born.

"Don't say that, he tried his best for us!" Sam interrupted angry that this woman was saying this to them, them who knew best of all what John had been capable off. The way he used to beat Dean if he did something wrong, beating him until these was nothing left to take away anymore. Sam pretended he didn't hear it, he drowned it out and forgave John every single time. Even when he shouldn't have.

"Don't kid yourself Sammy, you know what he did. The only thing he tried to do was to stay alive to kill that demon, that was all" She frowned her eyes dimming with the memories of the fights they used to have in the Impala. "I saw you Dean, I was there. Every single time you sat and cried, praying to god that he would turn back to normal. I was there when you followed Sam to college and sat and watched him walk around like a normal human being you knew he dreamed of being. I watched and I listened, every, single time when Sam cursed and punched the seats when John told him he couldn't have a normal life and you know what was worst of all?!" They could see it, the anger burning in her eyes, the tears building and threatening to spill over from the past she had witnessed. Their past.

"I couldn't do anything, not a damn thing. I tried so hard to do anything, even just to turn the radio on and drown out the sound of the breaking of the only two souls I've ever held close to me" By this time she was standing, her arms tight by her side the rage and sadness radiating around the room almost knocking the brothers off their already weak feet. How did she know all this?

"I wanted to help, I wanted to save you both from that cruel childhood you didn't deserve but I couldn't do anything…it was like watching a sad movie unfold and not being able to press pause to take a break…" Her head fell to the floor, the emotions becoming too heavy to hold back anymore.

"I-" Her eyes widened as she felt a pair of strong arms embrace her shaking body. She hadn't even noticed how weak human bodies could be, how crippling emotions could break them. Looking up, she could smell alcohol and…Dean, she could smell Dean. He was hugging her soothingly running his rough hands up and down her back.

"It's okay, you can stop now. We believe you" He mumbled into her hair making her shudder from the way his cold breath tickled down her sensitive neck. Dean knew how hard it could be, he experienced it all, and seeing the way someone reacted to witnessing it saddened it more than he would have thought.

"So if you are the Impala…how are you human?" Sam broke the silence which filled the room for several minutes and stepped closer joining his brother and wrapping his long arms around them both.

"I don't know…I don't even know how to control myself anymore" Her voice cracked and broke, and with the felling of coldness on his shoulder, Dean could feel she was crying. Spilling tears for the past that wasn't hers. "We'll figure it out, all of us" He smiled and took in her scent, she did certainly smell of the impala, the combination of old leather and whisky, something he had considered home for all his life.

"Yea, we will" Sam agreed gently, his voice comforting and making her shoulders slump as she closed her tear filled eyes which spilled out one drop after another and showing no signs of letting up, the impala let herself be consumed by the two people she loved more than anything on this damned earth, her boys.

She wasn't sure what was more exhausting, the emotional distress or the way her body ached from all the walking, talking and standing she had been doing. Of course the boys had let her sleep in Dean's bed while he slept on the floor, although she insisted to let him sleep on his own bed. And when she woke up that morning, the sun blinding her eyes to shut and turn away. Groaning in annoyance, baby understood why Dean complained every morning from not getting enough sleep, her eyes burned and hurt every time she tried to open them. "You awake yet?" Sam appeared in front of her vision smiling at her in his usual cheerful mood.

"Now I am" The impala sighed and slowly parted her eyes looking around until she looked to the door hearing it open, Dean stepped inside his heavy footsteps instantly recognizable.

"I got what ya ordered" Dean walked over dragging the dirt he had collected outside, across the motel floor and dropped the bag of clothes onto the bed at her feet.

"I hate mornings" Baby groaned and sat up reaching for the bag, she inspected it, pulling out item after item "It seems you're good for something rather than hunting" she remarked making Dean smile and shake his head before he began collecting up his weapons. Getting up she stretched and cracked her neck before taking the plastic bag and heading towards the bathroom to change, closing the door behind her she nodded and dressed in the leather jacket, tight black jeans and white tank top Dean had brought for her as well as the black lacy underwear, "He has good taste" she chuckled and was just about to pull on the tank top when the door clicked open. "Hey wait" turning her head, she spotted Dean staring at her back his eyes wide with surprise. "o-oh sorry, I thought you'd be done" He laughed slowly backing off once he scanned her slender body, it wasn't made of skin and bones but was rather curvy and held some muscle, he couldn't see any flaws and even the tattoos and marks they had left on her made him almost smile with the beauty and memories she held, no wait. She was his impala, he couldn't think of her...like that could he? As the door slammed shut in front of him he blinked and shook his head getting rid of that thought from his head.

"Done" After she had finished and calmed the raging thoughts in her mind of what Dean had done, Baby joined them outside the motel, brushing her hair into place with her fingers "So how are we getting back to Bobby's'?" she mused watching Dean look a little displeased while Sam was on the phone to someone.

"Sam's' arranging a ride, now that you're…like this" Dean gave her a once over, pleased by the way the clothes fitted her body so well, the leather jacket made her hair seem to gleam a brighter silver, her tight black jeans also brought her curvy legs into his view and the tank top…the hunter didn't even want to think about that right now.

"Do you think we'll be able to turn me back? I'm guessing you're missing your car huh?" She mused, curious and a little sad to think Dean would want her to be a car and drive rather than being like this and able to interact. Maybe he didn't even want her around. As he shook his head and chuckled, it didn't make her feel much better, just made her heart sink.

"There's a car borrowing service a couple of miles down the road, we should be able to get one there" Sam came back stuffing his mobile back into his pocket adjusting the back pack on his shoulders.

"I still don't see why we don't just steal one?" Dean grunted annoyed that they had do walk so far and he hadn't had his beloved car to drive, not that he didn't like this beautiful woman beside him.

"Don't be a cry baby" Baby rolled her eyes and patted his arm before she began walking, her hair swaying back and forth elegantly down her shoulder blades the sunlight reflecting off it made the silver radiate around her. Dean couldn't help but stare for a moment, hypnotized. As Sam began following her chuckling at the way she was able to handle Dean so naturally, Dean followed him frowning lightly.

"My legs, they hurt" The impala complained loudly, her feet dragging across the dirt road as they trio continued to walk. "How much longer?" she whined, looking to Sam for an answer.

"Not much longer, don't worry" Sam chuckled at her expression surprised she even lasted this long, glancing at her feet to see how dirty her boots had gotten.

"I liked wheels better…" They took longer to ware out and didn't need replacing for years. Dean glanced at Sam the same thought crossing their minds. "Don't do that, I can see the looks you're giving each other" Baby frowned at the two taller males and rolled her eyes.

"I don't know what you're talking about" Dean mused and moved to step in front of her making her halt. "Now stop complaining and hop on" grinning like a two year old, Dean turned on his heel and lowered his back for her nodding her forward onto his back.

"Really, do I look like a child?" Baby huffed and was about to side step him but Sam stopped her, lifting her up and giving her no other choice than to hold onto Deans shoulders her legs wrapping around his waist. A blush slowly crept across her face from his closeness, the way his shoulder blades moves and hands gripped her thighs made her heart beat speed up. "T-Thanks, but this is the only time hot shot" She didn't want to lose her facade and quickly pouted again sending a glare at Sam who seemed to be satisfied at his work.

"You aren't used to your human legs yet, this was the best solution" The younger Winchester waved in his defense and lifted Deans bag before they both began walking again, the impala hitching a ride on Deans back. It was kind of ironic, how she was now riding him and he used to ride her. She could get used to liking this.

They arrived a while later, the only light illuminating the small car borrowing store was hung on the shop window. Lighting up the contents of old, rusted cars which would probably only worked with a miracle. "This is it, are you serious Sammy?" Shocked and appalled by the state of the cars, Dean looked to Sam for any words to describe this.

"It's the only thing they have in this state, we're going to have to cope" Sam shrugged and walked forward, pushing the old glass doors open, they creaked and rattled only indicating how much older the store was than it already looked. "Hello?" Calling out into the dusty room, nothing but a small echo replied.

"Anyone home?" Dean looked around running a finger over the dusty counter, a face of disgust replacing his soft features. "That's gross man" letting the impala down slowly, felling a bit colder after losing her body heat, he stretched and smiled. "Am I a good pony?"

"Yea, I could hire you for a fun fair" Baby chuckled rolling her eyes. Always the joker.
