Breakfast Incidents
ONESHOT
...
A/N: I'M ALIVE!
Summary: The world is full of mysteries. Sometimes, these mysteries traverse time and space. Which is, of course, how Giotto and Tsuna meet the same men despite being separated not only by oceans, but by time itself.
"Get back here, you slum bags!"
"It wasn't our fault, honestly! That wasn't the best idea we had, G."
"Giotto, do me a favour? Shut up and run!"
Giotto gave their pursuers one last glance before following G down an alleyway. They went through the twists and turns of Sicily's slums and stopped when the footsteps suddenly disappeared with a POOF.
They saw traces of pink smoke as they turned fully to see what happened to the men. "We should really keep going," G said cautiously.
Giotto waved him off and stared at the empty street. There were no pursuers. They had just vanished.
...
"Good morning, Juudame!" Gokudera shouted cheerfully.
"Gokudera-kun!" Tsuna opened the door and gestured for his friend to enter as he hurried back inside to finish his breakfast. The breakfast table was filled with the mafiosi Tsuna surrounded himself with, most of them being children.
"Ohayo, Gokudera-nii!" Fuuta said and I-Pin gave the teen a respectful bow.
"Lambo, that was mine!" Tsuna cried and tried to reach for the bread before Lambo bit into it.
Lambo stuck out his tongue and shoved the entire slice into his mouth. Tsuna groaned and saved the rest of his plate from Reborn who was sitting atop three cushions.
"Reborn, say ah," Bianchi said with a spoon of Nana's cooking approaching Reborn's mouth.
"Ah."
"A-Aneki—" Gokudera stuttered before clutching his stomach and falling to the floor.
Tsuna groaned. "I forgot to warn him about Bianchi!"
"Ara, Gokudera-kun isn't feeling well again?" Nana said worriedly when she saw the teen collapsed on the kitchen floor. "The two of you should be leaving for school soon."
"You can leave him alone, mama," Reborn said.
"I want seconds!" Lambo shouted.
"Lambo has eaten enough," I-Pin said. Fuuta nodded in agreement while he continued his first serving.
"Hiie! We have to go now!" Tsuna grabbed his bag and with Nana's help, got Gokudera moving. "Bianchi, wear your goggles when you know Gokudera-kun is coming over!"
"But he wouldn't be able to see the beautiful face of his sister if I do that," Bianchi countered with a wistful sigh.
He can barely stand the look of that face in the first place! Tsuna thought as he slung one of Gokudera's arms over his shoulders and struggled to get his friend out of the house.
Not soon after, Gokudera regained consciousness and began walking on his own—but only after he apologised greatly for troubling his Decimo.
"It's alright, Gokudera-kun," Tsuna said for the umpteenth time.
"But I must show how much I regret collapsing in your presence, Juudaime! It's all my sister's fault," Gokudera muttered darkly. "If only she wasn't there…"
POOF!
The two teenagers stopped in their tracks and stared at the pink cloud of smoke up ahead. "But Lambo's at home," Tsuna started to say when he recognised the smoke for what it was. Gokudera immediately planted himself in front of Tsuna and pulled out his dynamite.
"Please stand back, Juudaime. We don't know who's causing this to happen! It might be someone trying to send us to the future again."
Shadows emerged slowly and two large figures came bursting out. The men looked menacing and for the first few steps, looked ready to kill. Then they took in their surroundings and noticed that they weren't on the same street they were in just moments ago.
"What just happened? Where are we?"
"Who are you?" Gokudera shouted.
The men turned to see Gokudera. Their eyes narrowed as they surveyed the shorter boy next to him. It didn't matter if they were dressed differently or where they were. They wanted pay back. "You!" Tsuna gave a startled yelp when they pointed their fingers at them. "You slum bags! You'll pay for what you did!"
The men moved as though they were about to attack but Gokudera was quicker. He lit his dynamite and threw them at the two men. They had a second to show shock and even less time to register the fear they should have felt from the beginning before the dynamite went off.
POOF!
Tsuna and Gokudera shielded their eyes from the double explosion.
"What was that?" Tsuna asked as he cleared the smoke in front of him while coughing slightly. "Where'd they go?"
The men were gone without a trace.
...
"Where could they have gone?" Giotto murmured to himself as he stood on the spot where he had last seen their pursuers. "They couldn't have just disappeared."
"Giotto, I know you're worried for them and I know that you want to solve this mystery, but we have people who are hungry."
Giotto nodded at G's words. He knew that their family was relying on their hard earned money at the docks for food. And they had nearly lost that food when they got into an argument with those two men. But he just couldn't let go of the fact that they were gone.
POOF!
Giotto took a startled step back, his eyes wide in surprise. "G!"
G swore. "There's that pink smoke again!"
When the smoke dissipated, they saw the men lying on their backs, the front of their shirts and their face wounded by an unknown enemy.
"They're injured," Giotto said in alarm as he examined them. "We have to help them."
"Giotto!"
"There's a church not so far away. We could take them to the front steps and be on our way," Giotto said.
G swore again. After making sure that the food was tightly secured beneath his jacket, he took hold of the other man and hauled him up. "You and your big heart. Who knows? Maybe that was God trying to help us, and now you're just ruining his work by not using this time to get away from these bastards!"
Giotto laughed. "Actually, if there is a God, don't you think I would be praised for helping my enemies?"
"Oh, shut up."
