This story was inspired by mynoodlesafterdark Lion King/Cardverse crossover drawing.

I couldn't get this idea out of my head so when I finally got free from school I wrote this. Feel free to listen to Can you feel the love tonight while reading this since I made the story with the song's tempo or at least I tried.

This is the second time I write in english so be prepared for some mistakes. I hope there aren't many of them. Leave a review if you liked the story or if you think there is something i need to work on. I would really appreciate constructive criticism

"…and then, and then he goes all…" Alfred says, barely containing his laughter.

"Your Majesty, no! That's not what a prince do!" Arthur finish for him, sending the two boys in hysterical laughter.

"Hahaha classic Yao" Alfred talks again once the two of them calm a little. "Those were good times" he added with a nostalgic smile.

"They were" Arthur respond with a similar smile. "I really missed them…miss you" he said the last in a whisper, bringing a small smile to Alfred's face.

"I miss you too, Artie" Alfred responds while sitting a little closer to the green eyed blond, showing his friend he was being honest.

Hiding behind the nearby bushes, a pair of men were watching the young boys. The one with silver white hair rolls his eyes at the sight.

"I tell you Antonio" he says to the other man. "This stinks"

"Oh, sorry amigo" the brown haired man apologize "I think I step on something" he explains.

"Not you…Them!"he answers while pointing the two blonds "Alfred, Artie" he makes some faces and hand gestures while saying the smaller blond's nickname. "All alone"

"Whats wrong with that?" Antonio asks, seeing nothing wrong with the friends wanting to be alone.

"I can see whats happening" Gilbert says, while giving the blonds a hard look.

"What?" the other asks, curious at what his friend sees there that he doesn't see.

"And they don't have a clue" he was really mad at the clueless boys.

"Who?" and his friend also not seeing what was happening didn't help

"They fall in love" he explains, pointing Alfred and Arthur so Antonio doesn't mistake who he is talking about "and here is the bottom line…Our trio is down to two" he finish while pointing himself and Antonio.

"Oh" Antonio answers, finally catching up.

"The sweet caress of twilight, there is magic everywhere and with all this romantic atmosphere…disaster is in the air" Gilbert tells, while looking at the blonds who are standing up to go see the open heart of the land, that Alfred insisted that he wanted to show Arthur.

Alfred was ecstatic to show Arthur the heart of the land, and was happy that Arthur had healed enought to be able to walk the path that lead to their destination. They were walking side by side, Arthur busy admiring the surroundings and playing with the creatures that lived in the Jokers Land, all of them that seemed to adore him, just like the one who was following Arthur when Alfred found him.

Alfred didn't mind, it give him the chance to observe Arthur without him finding out and blushing furiously. The differences between the two of them keep letting him speechless. While they were both childrens, they have been differences, both not so many. His face used to be a little more taned than Arthur's, since he used his free time to play outside while Arthur prefered to spend it reading, when Alfred didn't draggued him outside. Still, since the time they have to themselves was so little, Alfred didn't get too taned while he was in Spades.

But now, Arthur's skin was white as snow while his was…well, very tanned. He couldn't think of another word. Arthur had called it sun kissed skin, without noticing, while he was scolding Alfred after he had laugh about Arthur's red nose and freckled face after a few days of being on The Jokers Land.

And it wasn't just the color of their skins. Arthur's skin was really soft, like silk, and it left Alfred's skin tingling everytime they touched. They had grown very differently, and Alfred didn't think it was all due the fact that he had grown in The Jokers Land.

Arthur's slim and lithe body was nothing like Alfred's broad and muscular body, even when Arthur wasn't that much short than him. Not to mention that Arthur's small body it was making him feel the way he should feel when seeing pretty girls, if his father's advice years ago and Gilbert's and Antonio's advice not so long ago were anything to go by.

That wouldn't have bothered him years ago, he assumed that since Arthur was to be his Queen, he would feel those things for him, because they were destined to reign together. But now, they weren't. Arthur wasn't destined to be Queen and, more importantly, he was never gonna be a King.

And there lay the reason Arthur and he were fighting half the time since Arthur had came to The Jokers Land. He was determined to make Alfred comeback to Spades and become the new Spades King. But Alfred couldn't.

He hated the fact that Spades was so plagued of problems. The kingdom that his father worked to make it the more prosperous and happy. The one his father loved so deeply, is was sick and dying thanks to the current King. His uncle was killing the kingdom, killing the people, but yet he was a better King to Spades that Alfred could ever be. He doesn't have his hands dirtied with King Matthew's blood, unlike Alfred.

Arthur didn't know about what caused alfred's father's accident, the one who had killed him. And Alfred was scared to tell him. He knew what he had done, he knew that it was his disobedience and carelessness that had killed his father and he lived everyday with the guilt. But he couldn't stand looking the hate in Arthur's eyes when he finds out what had happened. He couldn't live with Arthur hating him.

He didn't know how to make Arthur comprehend that he never could be a good king without telling him the truth and because of that Arthur thinks he is being selfish or that he is scared about coming back. The worse was that, Arthur reassuring him that he would be by his side always, helping him transforming Spades to what it was. It made it so easy to say yes and take his kingdom back.

Still, Alfred knew that all that he had and deserve was here and that he should enjoy this little time he was getting with Arthur before it ends.

Arthur finally turns to look at him, covered in the exotic birds that also lived in the Jokers Land, undoubtedly getting red now that he noticed that Alfred was staring at him. Alfred laughed at him. "Having fun Artie?" he nods. "I'm glad, but we gotta keep going if we wanna get to the heart of the land just before the twilight ends" Arthur moves, making the birds fly away and they continue their small travel.

"They are truly marvellous creatures"Arthur says while looking some of the birds flying above them. "You don't see those outside of here"

"It's the barrier, here they are safe from hunters, since not even one of them can enter" he explains, leading the way again. "Only those with a pure heart and good intentions can pass the barrier. They have put the barrier to protect themselves from angry citizens, but now it also protects all the creatures that live in here"

"This place is a paradise, must have been nice to grow in here" they reach the end of the path, and Arthur observes the lake that is in front of them "How are we gonna pass this?"

Alfred throws the bag he has been carrying- with clothes and other things- to the other side of the lake.

"What are you doing?"Arthur asks.

"Where are gonna die in here, I just thought in make it quick"

"What?" he screams, really scared.

"I was kidding, Artie. We're gonna use that liana to pass" he pointed to the side, where the liana was brushing the ground "I was just trying to make us lighter, so it don't breaks"

He goes to take the liana and then open his arms to Arthur. He doesn't seems to understand at first but then he comes and press himself close to Alfred and securing his arms behind Alfred's neck. Alfred pass his other arm around Arthur's waist and jumps while gripping the liana tightly. They were close to the other side when the liana breaks and they fall abruptly in the lake's water. The first one to make it to the surface is Arthur, gasping loudly while Alfred emerges already laughing. Arthur throws him water for laughing and then they swim the little space they had to the other side.

Even when they are changing to dry clothes, he keeps laughing, while Arthur keeps frowning and scolding lightly until a mischievous smile forms on his face.

"Let's make a race!" he yells while throwing his drenched clothes to Alfred-who was carrying the bag-and running away, taking the path already marked.

Alfred picks the clothes, still in the middle of changing himself, and launch himself after Arthur. Arthur is faster that one would think, a little cheater and the bags with the wet clothes is heavier than Alfred think it would be and so it takes him a while reach Arthur's side. However, seeing Arthur's surprised and red from exhaustion face makes it worth it.

When he sees them quickly approaching the cliff from where they are gonna see the heart of the land, he stops Arthur. They walk calmly to the end of it, just to see the sun about to hide, the light giving on the forever snowy top of the mountains and the ice reflecting the light to the heart of the land. Making all the plants and precious rocks glows with the colours of the rainbow. They stay in there, watching how the lights shows all of the places in the deep of the land- that no one can reach- and enjoying the beauty of this land forbidden to men.

The sun finally sets, and the moon appears on the sky, ending the show. Yet, Arthur is still watching all the extent of the land, captivated with it's magic. Alfred just stands there, watching Arthur's face glow with the moon light, and his fascinated smile.

"It is beautiful" Arthurs says, still not looking at him.

"It truly is" he answers, but he doesn't talk about the land.

Arthur looks at him, finally noting their proximity- Alfred had to catch him by his waist, or else Arthur would have walked to the edge of the cliff, wanting to see more- and blushing. The moon light makes it hard to see it, but he knows Arthur and he knows that the blush is there.

He sees Arthur closing his eyes and his face getting close to his, and he imitates him. He can feel Arthur's warm breath over his lips and decides to break the distance between them.

But both stop when they hear a cry close to them. They look at each other, confused for a moment but then they decided to look for the source of the cry.

They don't need to look to far, just a few steps away from them, they find Antonio crying and Gilbert telling him to stop crying in hushed tones.

"What are you guys doing?" Alfred asks. Gilbert looks at them like a deer in front of a predator, and Antonio cries even more when he sees them. "Hey, Toni. What's going on?"

"Gil…Gilbert says that you're not gonna be here anymore. Because you two are in love" at this, both Arthur and Alfred blushed furiously "and then…then you're gonna go with him and I'm happy for you but we are sad we're gonna lose a friend!" and with that the waterfall started.

It took like an hour to calm Antonio and then the four of them went back to the house. Alfred and Arthur without talking and avoiding seeing each other. Both embarassed of what was about to happen before they got interrupted.
