This "Story" will actually be more of a collection of shorts, probably all AkuRoku. Usually what happens is I try to take an unusual idea or somesuch that nobody's done before (that I know of) and try to work from there. Other times, these will be ideas that I really like but can't work into my main AkuRoku story because of silliness or because it doesn't fit. So yeah, this is all the random AkuRoku stuff that's too small to be its own fic and doesn't fit anywhere else! XD Poor wittle misfit stories...

Disclaimer: I... I... I... don't own them! waaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! throws herself at Sora's feet and cries

"Humor Me" by Txenriks

----

"We don't have consciences, Roxas. Don't try to say we do."

"I know, Axel. I know." Roxas sighed. "I do...want to. It's just... I also want to be the kind of Nobody who deserves a heart. Who won't be driven mad by guilt when I get my heart and conscience back. There's nothing telling me right from wrong, but... I still know the difference."

Axel shrugged indifferently. To him, the matter was clear as day. No fake conscience to muddle his view of things, and he actually preferred it that way. Axel wanted Roxas, and Roxas wanted him, so there shouldn't be any problem with that. But a problem had managed to sneak into the situation, anyway.

Axel was used to just one rule: "Take what you want." However...lately his life had become a little more complicated than that. There was an extra mantra added to his book, one that seemed to get in the way of his plans an awful lot. Kind of annoying, actually.

"Don't hurt Roxas." Had become his new number one rule. So here he was. Sitting. Not kissing Roxas, not running his hands through that dusty gold hair, certainly not ripping the long black robe off of Roxas, nor any of the numerous other things he felt like doing. He was just...sitting there on Roxas's burgundy armchair, waiting as the boy dangled his nonexistant heart from a string. It was a good thing he was a Nobody, or he'd already have died of an anxiety attack. As it was, all Axel could feel was impatient.

"Roxas," He began, tapping his fingers along the arm of his chair. "The way Xemnas is leading the Organization, I don't think any of us will be seeing our hearts anytime soon. Are you going to make yourself keep suffering, just for something that may or may not come true? What are you willing to give up, for a man who'd rather see you dead than alive?" He sighed and squirmed around a bit in his seat. "Are hearts really that important? What's one more hunk of muscle going to do for us, anyway? A heart wouldn't... wouldn't change the way I feel about you, Roxas. It'd just confirm what I already told you, and make it true. So..."

Roxas held up his hand, silencing Axel. "It's alright, Axel, I know." He smiled slightly, then continued with an ironic laugh. "I'm the 'Key of Destiny'. I don't like feeling trapped by the very 'fate' I'm supposed to control, even if that particular 'fate' is one I want. But... no matter what I do or say, no matter how much I try to act like I've got a conscience... I'll end up with you, anyway."

Roxas didn't even need to bend down to kiss Axel chastely on the forehead, his tiny hand drifting down from the redhead's cheek, to his chest, to grasp the larger hand. "So... just try and humor me, okay?"

Axel's traditional smile was back where it belonged; right between his lips. Lips that were, currently, pressed against Roxas's wandering hand. Humor Roxas, huh? That might actually be...fun! "Okay, I will." He conceded, grinning madly from ear to ear. "But when that's done, you have to humor me."
