"Phantoms, sir. In front." Ali said and clicked a button on the transparent wrist laptop. She stood a couple feet behind the small group. Her brown eyes scanned the fallen walls of the old building for more phantoms, lurking inside the walls.
"Get your guns out, men!" the captain yelled and gripped his own gun as he looked at his teammates. "Get ready!"
A couple phantoms stood up in front of the group. "Fire!" the captain yelled and shot his gun at the phantoms. Two other teammates started to shoot along side of the captain. Neil turned his head and smiled at Ali, then he started to fire at a phantom in front of him.
"Sir? Sir!" Ali yelled and looked at her laptop, astonished. She clicked a few buttons and blinked. "Sir! There... there are more phantoms!"
"What are you talking about, Ali?" the captain yelled back as he continued to fire his gun.
"I don't know, sir. I have an energy reading for a phantom but it seems to be everywhere! This phantom is gigantic, sir!" Ali spoke fast as she kept her eyes on her laptop.
"Where is it, Ali?" the captain yelled just before the ground shook.
"What is this? An earthquake?" one of the teammates asked in front of Neil asked.
"It's the phantom! Sir! Right behind..." Ali started to yell but was cut off by the gigantic phantom coming up through the ground, only a couple feet away from her. She fell backwards and gasped.
"Ali!" Neil yelled and turned around quickly. The rest of the group turned.
"Fire!" the captain ordered as he grabbed his gun, raising it up. The ground shook and a crack appeared where the phantom was. The phantom dove into the crack.
"Sir.." Ali's voice was shaky. "He went that way." She raised her hand and pointed behind them, where the other phantoms were.
"Jolie, Gary, and I will go after the phantom. Neil, tried to get Ali. Move out!" the captain yelled and waved his hand. He started running after the other phantom and Jolie and Gary followed.
The seventeen year old sat on a piece of rubble, trembling. "Neil!" Ali whispered and looked down at the crack between her and Neil.
Neil walked to the edge of the crack and reached his hand over. "Come on, Ali. Grab my hand and jump." Neil said and looked at Ali.
"Neil! The phantoms!" Ali yelled and pulled her hand close to her chest. The laptop beeped innocently as it checked for energy readings from any phantoms.
"Ali. They are gone," Neil smiled and reached his hand a little farther, "Take my hand."
Ali nodded and whispered, "Thanks, Neil." She reached her hand toward Neil's and grabbed it. "Love you, Neil." She started to stand up to jump when a phantom came up through her body.
"Neil.." Ali gasped just before the phantom took her spirit. Her hand pulled away from Neil's as her body fell backwards to the ground.
"Ali?" Neil whispered. His eyes narrowed as he grabbed his gun and looked up at the phantom. "This is for Ali!" He yelled as he fired at the phantom, breaking it apart.
Neil jumped over the crack, barely making it over, and leaned down next to Ali's body. "Ali.." Neil whispered in a hurt voice. He lifted up her hand and kissed it. "Goodbye."
Neil stood up, with his gun in his hand. He lifted his hand and pushed a button on his helmet. "Captain.. Ali is gone. Ali has left us." He narrowed his eyes and clicked off the communicator.
"I will kill every last one of you. I swear!"
A/N: Review and tell me if you think I should have a series on how Neil and Ali met or just leave it at this.
