Heart-Shaped Cupcakes
"Ah, they're ready!" I remark, taking in the delicious aroma. What is ready, though? The cupcakes that I'm making for Rebecca's family! Rebecca's family is having a small gathering, due to the harvest season, and I was (surprisingly) lucky enough to receive an invitation. The only other people invited by Rebecca who aren't family are Dart, who may actually be her brother, and Wil, and Wil lives here in Pherae!
Regardless, I was asked by Rebecca to make something for dessert, and I accepted. I feel close to Rebecca, but I'm not entirely sure how to bring up my feelings... what if she doesn't feel the same way? I would look like a fool, and her parents would think badly of me...
"Lowen, it smells wonderful in here!"
I smile at the compliment from Rebecca, who enters the kitchen to collect some dishes for the table. "Thank you, Rebecca. I'm glad you think so. I need to grab some more berries to garnish on top, though; can you take out the cupcakes? They'll burn."
"Sure!" she agrees, and so I go and get some more berries from the bush outside. After collecting a satisfactory amount, I return in the kitchen, only to find Rebecca beaming at me.
"They're beautiful! You did this... for me?"
Did what?
"Pardon me?" I ask, trying to buy some time as I walk up to the cupcakes to see what happened...
It turns out, I made a mistake with the batter, so the cupcakes didn't keep their usual shape; instead it seems they've... morphed into heart-shaped cupcakes.
Looking back up at Rebecca's bright face, I decide to take this chance that has been given me, no matter the consequences. "Y-yes," I fib, blushing slightly. "I made these... to try and convey my feelings towards you. Do you accept?"
A brief peck on the cheek answers my question.
I guess I'll have to write down exactly what I did with that batter for next time! Hopefully her parents won't mind that their daughter suddenly has a suitor...

This fic is for Elven Nite! Lowen is a character I've NEVER used, so in all honestly, I'm actually surprised with how well I think this turned out. Hope Elvin does too!
Why did I write this in first-person? Not sure. Do I care? Nope. :p
