The End to a perfect beginning
Gary stood and smirked at his reflection, while running a hand through his hair. "Hey umbreon?"
"Bre," queried the eeveelution.
"You wanna go with me on a walk? I was thinkin' about challenging Ash again. If not, then you can hang about the lab."
"Um um. Bre!"
"Right, I take that as a no. I'll catch ya later."
----
"Go, blastoise!"
Gary through the pokéball in an elegant arc, and his starter emerged from the depths of the capsule. He blinked, and peered inquisitively back at his master.
"Bayleef, I choose you!" Ash's voice was intoned with an enthusiastic note and his face alight with happiness.
Bayleef raised her head from her paws, her eyes whet in upon Ash, and she sprung to her feet. The grass type skipped to the provisional battle field, and twirled in a loop on her hind legs. She stopped in front of the turtle. Bayleef impatiently bounced in place and awaited her next command.
"Skull bash," Gary calmly stated.
Blastoise glared at bayleef, and seemed as if he were concentrating.
"Razor leaf," Ash said.
She whipped the leaf on top of her head, and shot multiple leaves forward. They clashed into the turtle pokémon, harming him only slightly. Bayleef danced around her opponent and her red eyes narrowed in a challenge.
"Now!" Gary grinned in triumph as his pokémon zeroed in on the rival.
Blastoise charged forwards, and collided into Ash's pokémon with devastating results. The grass type attempted to shake herself off, and leapt back to her feet. She struck him across the face and arms with a resounding CRACK. She smugly retracted her vines.
"Boys that's quite enough! A rather large snowstorm is coming in, and all's you both can think about is having a battle?" Misty approached them, and playfully smacked Ash crosswise in the back of his head. "Your mother is calling for you, Ash. She's been for the past couple of minutes.
"I'm sorry Mist. Gary and I were just battling."
"I already know that," Misty said. She shook her head amiably, as Ash strolled away. Misty glanced at Gary through her bangs, and blushed when she noticed his intense stare.
"So, how're…"
"I'm well, my dear." He turned his boyish charm upon her, and her cheeks flushed instinctively. "How are you? You look very nice. I see you've grown your hair long, ever since our last encounter."
"I'm good, couldn't weight to…"
He cut her off by forcefully dragging her to him, covering her lips with his own.
"I fucking missed you, baby." He drew back, and snickered at her expression. The nineteen year-old pressed his mouth against her's and exhaled quietly, as he nuzzled her skin. "Missed you so much, it seems as if it's been such a long time since I've been able to hold you."
Gary's arm draped around Misty's shoulders, and she sighed contentedly. She pressed close, and positioned her cheek against his chest.
"I have something for you," Misty quietly said.
"Do you now?"
Misty nodded shyly, and drew a box from her coat pocket. "I thought this would be kind of neat." She held it up for his inspection. "Hopefully you like it."
He blinked and took the small package from her hands. Tearing the red and silver paper slowly from the gift, he grinned. Withdrawing a pokéball, he mouthed Misty's ear and nibbled it softly. "I'll like anything you give me. You know me pretty well after all. I always jump at the chance to have a new Pokémon. I have something for you, in return." He removed a velvet box from his sleeve.
As snow begins to fall, Gary glides an emerald ring on to her finger. Misty's visage reddens, and she gasps. He entraps her hand within his own, as he gazes into her eyes. "I love you. I would like you to be with me forever more.
