Dick left and became Nightwing, in a short period of time his birthday comes around.
Since he left Bruce never actually had a "conversation" with him, but his birthday he decided to make an exception.
He sends Dick some coordinates and tell him is urgent.
Then he arrives to a small town and the coordinates actually lead to Haley's Circus tht was having a preforming act in town.
Batman arrives behind him.
"Do you know they kept the same tent since you left?" Bruce says
"What is this?" Dick says
"Birthday present" Bruce says
"Cute. But you know I'm not going to forgive you that easy" Dick replies
"I know. And I know this is hard to say but Dick… Since I took you under my ward I considered you my son and it's your birthday and I just wanted you to know I am here to support you and not to judge you. I just wanted to know that I am here for you and I know I am what they call the world's greatest detective but I've been a lousy father and we still have a long path to walk but most of all I want you to know that you make me a better person." Bruce says sincerly
Then Bruce takes out a whistle and blows it. Not a sound came from it, well at least it was not audible for human ears.
Then an elefant comes out of the tent.
"Zitka?!" Dick asks surprised
The elefant known as Zitka runs towards Dick and embraced him with his trunk
For the first time in a long while you could actually see the wonder in that boy's tears of happiness
And for the first time you could see The Batman actually smile.
