Jake's POV
As I cradled her beautiful body, she told me about her last few days.
She first showed me her mother's face, the one I had loved, and still loved so much. Yet the love I now felt for her was what I felt for my family, not as a lover. Her change to a vampire had made her stunningly beautiful and graceful, yet the vampireness made it even easier to move on from her, because it made her not seem like the old Bella, who was clumbsy and just, plain pretty.
She showed me Rosalie, playing with her, next. I still disliked Rosalie, and she still hated me, but we had an unspoken agreement between us, that we wouldn't argue in front of Nessie for Nessie's sake. We both adored her, and I could see that however much of a bitch that Rosalie was to me, she really did love Nessie.
Next was Edward, cradling her in his arms. Edward was... strange to be around, for lack of better words. I didn't really know where I stood at all with him. He was friendly enough, but the fact that he could see into my head made me always feel strange around him. I couldn't think freely around him, without a sarcastic comment popping in to my head.
A picture of Quil laighing and Claire holding her hand was what she showed me next. Yesterday, he and Claire had come round to visit. We had to warn Nessie not to use any of her strength on her, to avoid hurting Claire. I knew that Nessie loved being with people that she hadn't met before, but she couldn't be too enthuisiastic, for both of their sakes. Quil would kill anyone who dared to lay a finger on his Claire. Before Nessie, I wouldn't have been able to understand why he was so protective, but now that I'd imprinted as well, I felt exactly the same way for Nessie.
Esme's face came up next, trying to tempt her to have some food. Esme was confusing for me. She acted so motherly, the one family member that I grew up without. She was always so kind, but in a way, I felt that it was just to weird to compare her to my real mother, so I always was slightly hostile towards her, which made me feel bad, but loyal to my mother.
Next she showed me Charlie, awkwardly holding her, wonder showing on his face at how much she had grown in so little time. He obviously hated not knowing why, but he couldn't know. Bella was adamant that he would stay on the 'only know what you need to know' thing that she and Charlie had. He was always acting oddly around me, but I guess werewolves freak some people out.
Lastly, she showed me my face, looking at her with love and adoration, and I knew she loved me. My love for her had only increased in our weeks together, through the pain, and the worry, and the sadness.
I was with Nessie, and Nessie was with me. We were where we belonged, and we were happy.
Hope you liked that! If it was rubbish, it was my first try at a one-shot, so go easy on me! Thanks for reading!
