Hey! I'm new to this and I just thought I should give it a shot. Don't kill me for mistakes; I'm not a very good writer. (: Okay, now enough from me. Here it goes… (Oh and p.s. this story is in Edward's POV unless otherwise noted.)

Yeah, I've got absolutely no ownage. Sucks, right? It's all SM's.

"Bye, Mom. Love you," I said as I walked out the door with my brother, Emmett. We were on our way to school. It was our first day at Forks High, Emmett as a junior and me as a senior. We got into my car, my beloved shiny Volvo, and drove to school.

"This ought to be fun," I said, sarcastically, as I pulled into the lot of the high school.

"Yeah, that's the word for it," Emmett replied sulkily. I hated first days, I had had so many of them over the past few years. So did Emmett.

Every three years or so, my mom, ?? would meet a new guy, and of course they were all horrible to her. They never ended well and she had a very special way, if you will, about getting over them. She wallowed around the house for two to three days, eating nothing but chocolate ice cream. Then she would tell us we were moving. Every single time she was dumped we moved. And not just to the next town over. I'm talking states over.

So of course that's how we ended up in Forks. Her last "boyfriend" had dumped her where we were living in northern California. My old friend from, oh, maybe second grade, Jacob, had moved here a long time ago. She never forgot the name of the town he moved to because it had always made her laugh. So we up and moved to here.

We got out of my car.

"see you later, man," Emmett said to me.

"yeah, see you at lunch." I walked into the school. Ugh, I thought to myself. I looked at my schedule, I had English first period. The bell rang and I had no idea where I was going. I ended up walking into class late, the teacher already starting his lesson. I looked down at my schedule again and apparently the teacher's name was, Mr. Meester. I thought that was pretty funny and laughed out loud. Meester shot me a dirty look that told me to get to my seat or else.

I sat down at the back of the class in the only open seat. I looked to my side and saw someone very familiar, Jacob. Jacob Black.

"jake?" I asked, extremely curious to know if it really was him.

"what?" he said rather grumpily. Then he turned and looked at me. "hey, do I know you from somewhere?"

"yeah, Edward Cullen. 2nd grade? We used to be friends?" I hinted to him.

"oh yeah! I haven't seen you in forever. How've you been?" he asked me, excited to see his old friend. I chuckled at his excitement.

"good. I've been really-"

"Black and the new kid, this isn't a social hour. Pay attention!" Mr. Meester yelled at us. We both choked back our laughter as he returned to his lesson. We were silent for the rest of 1st period.

All the way until lunch the minutes had dragged by. I had one class with Emmett, Gym. He was good at sports, while I was scarily and embarrassingly uncoordinated. But I had survived through it just to at least get through to lunch.

I walked from the locker rooms after gym with Emmett to the cafeteria. We bought ourselves lunch and were on our way to go sit with Jacob. That's when I saw them…
