Hello everybody, just felt like publishing this oneshot story I wrote a while ago, mainly because I haven't updated my other two stories. Whoops.. Oh, and also because I felt like Jack needed a little love from a mystery girl. I might put this in another story I write if it makes sense.. Anyways, I hope you enjoy it!

She knew she was in danger. She had heard about the beasty who lived in the forest, and was lost within the maw of the dense bush. The night concealed her, but also anything else around her. She heard a noise coming from somewhere close, and she shivered in suspense.

She looked around wildly, trying to see something in the dark forest. The only light source was the moon, providing little light through the thick umbrella of trees. She took a step back only to step on a branch, causing a cracking noise to resonate throughout the forest, seeming to silence anything around her. She flinched knowing she had alerted whoever was there of her presence.

Another noise came closer, a sort of whoosh, sending cold chills down her back. She felt whatever was near get even closer and stepped back once again, only to be met with something solid.

Fear wracked her body, as she knew what was in front of her was no tree. She could see a shape in the moonlight, almost a head taller than her, topped with short and shining hair. She gasped in to let out a bloodcurdling scream, but her mouth was covered by a large hand before she could.

A muffled cry erupted from her, but it was met with a shushing sound coming from the person holding her mouth shut. "If you don't be quiet you'll wake up the entire island." said a deep voice. It was all too familiar, and she recognized it at once as the red-headed boy known as Jack.

She felt her body relax, as she realized she was not in danger. The hand released off her mouth, and Jack spoke up once again. "What are you doing alone in the forest anyways?" he said in a hushed tone.

She looked at him in the darkness, squinting to try to see his features, masked by the darkness. "I was looking for you." she whispered.

Jack turned around and began to walk away, not wanting to hear what she had to say. "Well you shouldn't, because I'm a lost cause now. Just go back to Ralph so you don't get hurt in the big bad forest." he sneered in a loud whisper.

"Jack, no." she called, reaching out for him in the black cloak that covered the world around her. Groping for his hand in the dark, she walked forward until she reached him.

"Just.. just go." he said, half hoping that she would see through his lie. "No, I'm not going anywhere." she replied in a final tone.

It was just then that Jack grabbed her free hand to pull her towards him. She gasped in surprise, but her open mouth was suddenly overtaken my his in a kiss.

The kiss was the first they had shared, and was like a slow burning fire, its heat and intensity growing with each second. Their lips moved against each other like silk sheets, unparting only to be recaptured again. When the kiss was finished, neither knew how long it had been, only that it had felt like eternity.

The pair stood in the darkness in each other's arms for a few seconds to catch their breath and comprehend what had just happened, and it was with that, that their romance began to form.

Loved it? Hated it? Thought it was confusing? Let me know!
