"Your mom gave me a weird look," Uozumi informed as he took a seat on Akagi's bed. The former Ryonan player had dropped by the Akagi household seemingly out of the blue and how he knew where his ex-rival lived was anyone's guess.

"She's a good judge of character," Akagi responded flatly, his eyes never leaving his practice equations.

Uozumi frowned at the sarcasm in his friend's voice, "What university are you studying for?"

"Yokohama National University."

The former center gave a low whistle, "Pretty prestigious, never pegged you for the studious type."

"Never pegged you for a sushi chef," Akagi retorted as Uozumi smirked.

"Beats studying half to death just to get into some overpriced school and get some stuffy desk job. I'll stick with sushi, thanks," Uozumi boasted, always proud to defend his family's livelihood.

Akagi sneered, "Sounds like you. So you don't feel like you're missing out?" Rather then yet another snappy reply, Akagi was met with a surprising silence. Looking up from his study material, the Shohoku center was taken back by how his rival's sudden melancholy.

"...The only thing I'll miss is basketball. That and..." Uozumi trailed off, the rest of his words stuck in his throat, refusing to leave. Looking awkwardly to the side, Uozumi suddenly found himself unable to meet his friend's curious gaze.

"And what, Uozumi?"

The Ryonan mumbled something unrecognizable before more clearly adding, "Nothing. Just basketball."

This only caused Akagi to stare more suspiciously at his house guest, "Right. So are you going to tell my why you're here or not?"

The forwardness of the demand caused the future chef to glare back irritably, "Are you ever going to tell me why you're always at my restaurant?"

Akagi blinked, "What?"

Uozumi sheepishly looked off to the side again, "W-why are you always stopping by when I'm working..."

"...I heard fish was good for memory," Akagi answered weakly.

It was now Uozumi's turn to look skeptical, "There's plenty of sushi places near Shohoku, Akagi."

"..."

"And it's mainly fish eyes that help with studying..."

"..."

"AKAGI!"

"I LIKE YOU, OKAY?" Shouted Akagi before almost instantly slapping a hand over his mouth.

Uozumi blinked. And then blinked a few more times. And then poked his thigh to make sure he wasn't imagining things. Finally the basketball player turned chef turned bright red.

"...You like me?"

The Shohoku senior only nodded as he tried to avoid eye contact, his face equally as red as his friend's.

"Oh...I...I like you too," coughed Uozumi, finally looking directly as his long-time crush.

Meeting his fellow center's gaze, Akagi wasn't sure what to say, "You do?"

"It's not like I usually feel this way towards other guys, but...I've liked you for a while now. Since last year."

Akagi paused as he let the information sink in. To know his infatuation wasn't one-sided.

After a long pause, Akagi stood up and took a seat next to Uozumi, "...Yokohama National isn't that far away from Ryonan."

Uozumi nodded, "It's actually closer then Shohoku."

"...You'll probably see me around more often."

Uozumi wryly smirked, "Is that your way of saying we're going out now?"

Akagi grumbled and blushed once more, "Yes."

"..."

"Akagi."

"Hm?"

"Kiss me already, stupid."

Written because these two have such a ridiculous fucking bromance going on in the manga that they might as well just go have crazy gorilla sex already. But no really, Uozumi and Akagi are awesome. They need more love. :3
