Windowsill

Summary: Raito always loved staring out his window and resting on his windowsill, because his raven friend would always be there for him.
Author's Note: This is just a short story. It features Kid!Raito and Shapeshifter!Immortal!L. It doesn't mean much.
Disclaimer: I do not own Death Note.

He sat at his windowsill, waiting for his friend to come back- his eagerness rising up the roofs as he stared on with happiness as the Raven with the single white feather and obsidian eyes came, landing in front of him at the windowsill.

"L!" Raito cried happily, wanting to hug the bird but knowing it would be a bad idea so instead, he let the raven's head nuzzle against his cheek before the bird backed away.

"How was Rai-chan's school today?" The bird chirped out, sitting on the windowsill quite relaxed while Raito began to relay his day, the raven tilting his head to the side.

"Does Rai-chan ever want me to get back at the bullies for him?" "No, L, I'd be like the bullies if I did!" The bird didn't seem to quite get him, but Raito didn't mind.

"Besides, you're my best friend, aren't you L?" Raito asked, his voice soft as his index finger rubbed against his head.

He backed away when the bird suddenly swooped in, before transforming into a fully clothed male with a tattoo on his head that seemed to be a half-written Japanese letter on his left eye, but the top and bottom looked like two blades pointing out sharply.

He looked like a teenager, and ten year old Raito skittered to him and sat on his lap, hugging him tightly.

"…No, Rai-chan, you can call me your brother."

Author's Note: See? Short. I still like it anyway.
