Title: You think you have it bad?
Disclaimer-I do not own Ranma 1/2 , that belongs to Rumiko Takahashi and is distributed by Viz Video. I do own Erwin McCloud, any reference to any person, living, dead or fictional except for Ranma ½ is purely coincidental.
Author Note: On with the story!
Walking down a strangely uncrowded street in Tokyo one day; Erwin McCloud paused.
It had been only earlier today that he had arrived at Tokyo International. Yes, he was on a pre-training trip escapade. He needed to plan out what he'd do for the next decade.
He walked along the streets, noting "restaurants" and "places of interest".
He approached a dojo; it was a grappling dojo so he rang the bell at the gate and waited.
Soon a man came outside; he must have been less than twenty-five years old.
He began "Are you here to challenge the school or to learn?"
"My name is Erwin McCloud. I have come here to find the place where I shall train, in due time. This humble student begs to enter."
"As I am but a humble student, I cannot allow you entrance. I will summon my master for permission." The man spoke.
The man entered the building and came back with a man in a gi with a black belt around his waist.
"I am a Master, and allow you entrance to my dojo and home." He spoke
"Gomen, sensei." I spoke
I entered and stepped into the mud room and removed my shoes. I studied my feet, they were calloused from my walking and training. I placed the tabi provided on my feet.
I entered into the dojo and was concerned about the plainness of the training hall.
I was ushered to a small dining room table, the Master, another Master and what I assumed were four students were seated at the table. Slightly removed there was the Grandmaster of the style bent over an ironing board.
I knelt at the table and said my hello's. I felt decidedly uncomfortable, would they accept me because of my curse? Would I be allowed to live?
And so the obligatory signing of a payment contract and training was completed.
Sensei Tendo spoke up, "Today we will gauge your abilities with the Arts. Firstly, will be a match with Ranma."
I focused in on the student in a Chinese top and kung fu pants. We entered the dojo. We took positions opposite the center of the practice floor, bowed and assumed ready stances.
Ranma attacked first with a low-speed punch, I blocked and snapped a kick into his stomach. I somersaulted and assumed a Judo stance. I hadn't had this much fun since my last "training trip"! Thereafter we became blurs of enhanced speed, although I couldn't boast mastery of any high-speed techniques. I wasn't a slouch, I counter-attacked with a high-speed kick and broke his rhythm.
"Enough! Student McCloud, there is much for you to learn."
"Hai, Sensei Tendo-sama. Turning to Ranma, Origato, Ranma-san."
Next, I broke bricks, first one, then two and finally three.
I rose and joined the family for dinner.
My sense of the mystical prickled even more when I sat between Sensei Genma-san and Ranma-san. It started to rain, I finished my meal and excusing myself hurried down to the park.
"Ah at last you find time to seek out your betters. What delayed you?" said a Voice
"You know better than I arrangements must be made. I have not even procured lodgings yet. Are there worries, Brother?"
"Yes, there exists here a Godslayer, you must be careful young one."
"Yes Brother; forgive this young one for his ignorance; I beg to be free for my purposes."
"Go, Brother and be well."
Farewell
"I beg of you, never breathe the Holy Language to an unworthy. Enlightened One."
My position cemented, I went to find a cardboard box for the night.
Author's Note- A few things, I need help on Japanese and I hope that someone has an English to Aramaic dictionary. I think that it should be excessively formal because of their first day with a new student, personalities and curses will surface in the next chapter. Reviews are welcomed and appreciated. Flames will be used to cook my food.
