You had just gotten home after shopping
It was quite late, midnight maybe? Who even knows, your phone had died, the hallways where too dark so the numbers on a clock could not be seen, and your aren't magical enough to know the time of day twenty four seven! Never the less, you kept quiet. Your brother could still be in bed or maybe even watching a movie and didn't want to be disturbed.
You set a few bags down and slipped off your shoes, placing them neatly besides the door. You lazily put the contents of what was in the bags away and made your way up stairs. The only sound to be heard from you was the ever so soft foot steps on the stairs, although it changed once you got to the top. You heard some one sobbing and mumbling from where the source of the sobbing was.
This triggered you almost instantly and you opened the door to the source, not even caring where the door lead. The room was poorly lit, but you could make out a very upset Karkat was sitting in his bed with a pillow clutched to his chest. You hated to see him like this, or better yet, any one you care about like this. And you having a flushed crush on the troll made the matters worst. You walked over to him only to be nearly tackled with a hug.
"K-KANKRI...! W-WHERE WERE YOU...?" he choked out the words through sobs, holding onto your sweater tightly.
"I was 9nly 9ut sh9pping! are y9u alright? Why are you crying? Are y9u hurt?"
"YOU DIDN'T COME H-HOME, I...I..I THOUGHT SOMETHING BAD HAPPENED TO YOU WHEN YOU DIDN'T ANSWER Y-YOUR PHONE..."
"9h n9, my ph9ne was just dead! I am S9 S9RRY that I didn't c9me back...h9w l9ng was I 9ut?"
"FOUR HOURS AND THIRTEEN MINUTES. I COUNTED."
You face palmed, dammit kanny, you left him alone for FOUR HOURS. Well, it wasn't much actually but to be apart from each other it felt like forever. You knew how he felt and cuddled him in an attempt to comfort him. You both stopped talking about the situation by now and only cuddled each other.
The room was now quiet, the only sounds to be heard was purring. Karkat yawned and set his head on the crook of your neck, nuzzling it cutely. You figured this was a 'now or never' time to confess. You move his head so his nose would touch yours, giving him a quick peck on the lips before speaking.
"I l9ve you"
"LOVE YOU TOO KANNY"
You both giggle and fall asleep in each others arms.
