A/N: Just a little something that has been floating around in my head for a while, just some mindless Paric fluff :) This is along a similar vein to 'Hell On Wheels' etc. It's a bit short but I hope you enjoy it :)

By The Sea

...
I love to be beside your side, beside the sea,

Beside the seaside, by the beautiful sea!

'By The Beautiful Sea'

It was completely ridiculous, but the moment her head went under the water she panicked.

She rose to the surface, coughing and spluttering, desperately seeking the air that she didn't need.

Again she went under and, this time, she couldn't rise to the surface.

She panicked as something wrapped itself around her waist, in her struggle to break free her hands connected with a solid chest and she stopped abruptly.

It wasn't an attack, it was her Maker.

Meekly she stopped struggling and allowed him to drag her to the surface.

"Does this mean you won't be my sea goddess?" Eric asked, feigning innocence.

"Very funny," she retorted, her dark tone belied by the way she was clinging to him like a limpet as he kept them afloat.

"Which is a shame really because you're rather cute when you're all wet," he continued in the same teasing tone.

"Shut up."

"Your trust in my ability to keep you safe is truly inspiring," he continued, undeterred.

"I told you that I couldn't swim," she muttered, ignoring his comment, "and what do you do? You push me off a pier!"

"I jumped in after you," he said, a touch defensive.

"You ruined my dress," she pouted.

Eric smirked, "It will dry."

"And what do you expect me to wear in the meantime? I only have..." she trailed off at the look on his face. "This had better not have been an elaborate ploy to get me into bed," she warned him.

"Please," he scoffed, "when have I ever needed a ploy?"

He was rewarded for his comment with a punch on the arm and he smirked, "Although, now that you mention it…" he trailed off with a suggestive wink.

"You are unbelievable," she told him, fighting off a smile as he kissed her neck.

"Mm, I know," he agreed as he started to carry her back towards shore.

"And so conceited," she added with a grin.

He smirked, "And you wouldn't have me any other way."

"Sad but true," she said with mock regret, wrapping her arms more securely around his neck as they made it back to the shore.

Eric's only response was a playful growl, making her giggle, as he quickened his pace and carried her off into the night.
