White Shores, Weary Souls
By Otakuprincess
Alight upon the shores
Of Middle-Earth clear in sunlight
Reflects upon the water
A shadow
The ship is rigged and sails are high
Above their mighty mast
Which shall bear me hence
Into the edge of the world
You look at me in sadness
Surprised when I walk away
From your hands which once waved
A pleasant farewell
And most of all, Sam, I look to you
For your expression is more than I can bear
I want you to follow, but alas, it is not the time
The darkness has forsaken you
If only it had forsook me
But it was not my fate to return
The eagles left me on the slopes of Orodruin
And there I remain
I sail to white shores to drink the light
To shrug the heavy burden from my shoulders
But you, Sam, must remain with joy
For much of life you have yet to see
But there will come a time
When you may follow cross the sea
To where I will await
With open arms
So do not weep as I fade
Into the sunset
For we shall meet again
When you are swallowed by the darkness
Alight upon the shores
Of Middle-Earth clear in sunlight
Reflects upon the water
A shadow
The ship is rigged and sails are high
Above their mighty mast
Which shall bear me hence
Into the edge of the world
You look at me in sadness
Surprised when I walk away
From your hands which once waved
A pleasant farewell
And most of all, Sam, I look to you
For your expression is more than I can bear
I want you to follow, but alas, it is not the time
The darkness has forsaken you
If only it had forsook me
But it was not my fate to return
The eagles left me on the slopes of Orodruin
And there I remain

To shrug the heavy burden from my shoulders
But you, Sam, must remain with joy
For much of life you have yet to see
But there will come a time
