Part of my new daily school challenge. My best friend is giving me prompt for me to write during the breaks at school. This is number one. The prompt was Kate/Nikola on a mission. A car pursuit with Kate driving. Comedy and less than 800 words.

If you got a prompt for me for said challenge, feel free to contact me about it and I'll get it done for you. Psst... not sure I got the humour as much as I wanted to..

If driving with Helen had taught him anything, then it was that women were insane drivers. And not necessarily the good way. As bad/good as Helen drove sometimes though, Kate was currently doing a pretty good job at being worse/better.

Nikola had somehow ended up on a mission with the young woman and they had gotten into a car pursuit for some reason. He couldn't recall just how, only that now he was busy gripping the door, seat or whatever else gave him some sort of safety and kept him steady. How Kate managed while driving like this was far beyond him.

"Kate!"

"Not now, Vlad. I'm busy."

She had gotten way closer to the car they were chasing after and she didn't want to hear Tesla's complaints, too busy concentrating on the pursuit. She would have time for them later. When the mission was done perhaps. After the last times she had been the one getting chased by, Magnus seemed to have enough trust in her driving skills to let her handle these kind of things sometimes. Rather than having Tesla drive anyway, apparently.

"Wait a sec... Did you just actually call me by my name?!" Kate asked when she realized that he had done just that.

"There wasn't enough time for Miss Freelander and I don't want you to kill us should I use a nickname." He stated, a tiny bit of panic rising in his voice.

Kate started laughing, clearly amused by him being scared. Now that was a story worth telling the others even if she should be paying a price for it later on if he found out. She was going to tease him forever about this. Nikola stared at her in utter disbelief. He didn't have a death wish after all; at least not like this. He hadn't exactly been thinking straight calling her by her name either but the situation made him react that way.

They nearly drove over something that looked very much alive or at least like enough to make them crash somewhere. She was insane. Perhaps even worse than Helen was. After all, he had been getting used to her driving skills. Kate on the other hand was a completely different and new story.

He lost his balance when she took a sharp curve, turning into a small alley and he hit the door, being pushed against it by the force of the movement and he grumbled something under his breath, moody. That was neither comfortable nor funny although the grin on Kate's face indicated otherwise.

"Come on, Vlad. Get a grip. We nearly got him." She chuckled, grinning and trying to sound serious.

Nikola glared at her, hissing before she took another turn, driving even faster than before through the tiny street they were in now and it ripped Nikola from saying anything, getting back into his seat. If she'd keep on driving like that over the rather broken road, he'd be sick soon. This was ridiculous.

A couple of alleys, streets and violent turns later, they all but crashed into the car they had been after. Kate had taken a shortcut and luckily enough, she had been right with where she had been driving to. Kate grinned broadly at Nikola, patting his cheek before she got out of the car to get the guy they had wanted while Nikola blinked a few times, not moving. Once he realized what had happened, he had made up his mind about driving with Kate.

He would never get in a car with her ever again.
