Mu's Anthem

Mello is a low ranked agent at the Intergalactic Union Protection. On a mission Mello is forced to explode with a building with himself trapped inside. Miraculously he survives, and, after being force to accept a mechanic prosthesis he doesn't want, he's promoted to one of the highest ranks on the IUP, where he'll meet with old and new friends in a whole new adventure.

- Prologue -

Mu.

Mu it's an isolated planet far away on Kami Quadrant.

This planet it's not isolated because there's no planets close, but because every one of those planets was abandoned – their habitants fearful of the races that lived on Mu.

And what was once a happy quadrant became a lonesome place.

While most planets presented themselves with the appearance and characteristics of an ancient race: the humans, Mu had a different genetic code programmed on his roots.

They have both a human like form and non human like form, and they were always male gender. But it was not that instable appearance or gender that scared away their neighbors.

On Mu there are two races of habitants. When a habitant of Mu – it doesn't matter from which race – gives birth, it always gives birth to twins, one of each race existents on Mu.

One of them will be of the shinigami race – a race condemned to live only if they kill. When a shinigami sees a person and writes down their names, that person will die and the years of life that that person had will be summoned to the years of life of the shinigami.

The other one will be an enzeru – a race whose life depends on other people's life. When a enzeru sees a person that died of an unnatural cause and writes down their names, that person will be brought back to life and the years that that person lived will be added to years of life of the enzeru.

Without that, the moment both races reach their two decades anniversary, they will die.

That's why the other planets were "evacuated". No one wanted to live their lives being manipulated by neither of those races.

Isolated, the Mu locals either became dependent on social networks to live; or moved out of their own planet looking for a way to survive – most likely failing.

All though Mu seemed like an unfortunate place, all habitants were happy, and the planet was prosperous. They lived on a monarchy, usually ruled by twin kings: a shinigami king and a enzeru king, even though in Mu, for the past 20 years, the kingdom was ruled by a man – an non shinigami nor enzeru man. That man was married to the previous enzeru king, who died poison by his twin - twin that died, not long after, poison by the enzeru king husband.

Still in life the king gave birth to two separated sets of twins. The man raised the four children with all his love, and rule the planet with all his devotion, and why not, a little of love as well.

Our story begins now. Twenty years after the fall of the enzeru king, and with a tragedy, which is a so promising for a start, if I may say it myself… This story starts when the man who rules Mu falls ill.
