Chapter 1 – The Confrontation

The woman entered Alan Shore's office, a bright smile on her face. Standing up, his hand out to shake it, Alan smiled back.

"Alan Shore", he said, as they shook hands.

"Tara Spurn", the woman said, as their hands parted and Alan returned to his seat across from Tara.

Tara sat in the seat opposite. Her hands placed calmly on her legs, she hesitated.

"I'm going to be your lawyer for the trial in court, as you would know." He said calmly.

Tara smiled. "Yeh, of course." She said, as she waited for him to speak.

"Ok, so you've said you're suing a lingerie company for selling you faulty underwear??" Alan asked, raising his eyebrows in confusion.

"Well, I bought a g-string and lacy camisole, but the first time it got washed it broke into bits, and the plastic parts of it broke the washing machine. I then took it out and put it in the dryer, which it then broke the dryer as well." Tara stopped as she saw Alan's sceptical and slightly amused face, and shrugged. She then continued, "I didn't mean to put it in the dryer, I didn't know it was the g-string and camisole that broke it."

Alan sighed. "Ok then."

Tara then spoke again. "Oh and my husband also wants me to sue because his pants, which were a bright green, are now a bright red."

Alan then replied, smirking by Tara's comment. "Right, well let's see what we can do with this."

Denny sat in his office, leaning back into his chair. He was smirking as one of his clients raved on about how he needed his help in suing his friend.

"So he beats up my wife, and says that he did it because I didn't pay him 10 grand that I've owed him for months." The guy said angrily, holding his wife's hand, the both of them looking worried and angry at the same time.

"Well you should have paid him." Denny said, taking a breath of his cigar, and breathing it out of his mouth.

The guy looked concerned. "Isn't it illegal to smoke inside public buildings??" He asked Denny.

Denny shrugged. "Maybe, but I don't care. Anyways, I could try and help you, but I don't guarantee that it will work out." He said, as the man kissed his wife on the lips.

Smiling, the man looked back at Denny. "Thanks for helping us." He said, as his wife nodded in agreement.
