I do not own Legend of Korra
My Old Friend
Today was the day that my best friend Odaki was coming to visit from the South Pole. It has been 2 years since I last saw her and that was the day I had to leave to go to Republic City. I can still remember all the fun times we spent together. We went penguin sledding and we were always up to no good.
I looked out into the distance and faintly make out a water tribe boat. "She's here!" She immediately jumped off the boat and welcomed me into a warm embraced. "I missed you so much! Things haven't been the same back in the South Pole without you!" Odaki yelled. Suddenly the memory of the day I had to leave popped back into my head.
I was on my way to Odaki's home. It was night time and all the lanterns glowed orange as it reflected off the falling snow. I knocked on the rather small door. "Hey Odaki are you there? I need to tell you something really important!" The door creaked open and there she was welcoming me inside. "What is it?"
I took a deep breath and said in a saddened tone, "I came here to tell you that I have to leave the South Pole to go and finally start my airbending training."
Her face turned somber. "Korra, I'm really happy for you, but i want you to know that I'll miss a lot."
"I'll miss you too," she replied hugging me.
After I left I quickly got on Naga and that was the last time I saw Odaki.
"Korra are you okay?" Odaki said, snapping me back to reality.
"Oh, sorry I was just thinking about something."
Soon everyone made their way to the dock. " Odaki this is Mako, Asami, Bolin, Pema, Tenzin, Jinora, Ikki, and Meelo," I said pointing to each of them. Odaki bowed and replied, "It's very nice to meet all of you and thank you so much for letting me stay on the island."
"Make yourself feel welcome," Pema said.
For the first few days I introduced Odaki to the city and showed her around the Air temple. She hasn't changed a bit. Odaki was still funny because at dinner she would tell stories of the crazy adventures we shared together back home and was kind just like she always have been. She was a waterbender just like me and we were both trained by Master Katara.
Till one night when I got up in the middle of the night to go get a glass of water because I couldn't sleep. I passed by Odaki's room when I noticed that her door was slightly opened. When I took a peek inside she was not there. Thoughts began racing through my mind.
Where could she have gone?
