Victory Song
They won, but it was still an overcast day.
How many friends they had lost, they couldn't say.
But they all had their places, in all their hearts,
that moment to mourn, when the world restarts.
And then, there was the dark sky above their heads:
the centre scene of which sprang all of the threads
that tied them to this destiny, together -
and they'd fight, rewind time, and fight forever
Until they found the victory they searched for:
that perfect win without blood and loss and gore
and then they'll lay down their weapons and the tears
and pray for happy peace in the coming years.
