She dubbed it "team activity" when he called it "pain in the ass".
Either way, the artist wanted his money. Both Ino and Chouji exchanged glances and scampered to the funnel cake booth across the way leaving Shikamaru to take care of the payment. Needless to say, he wasn't too pleased with that turn of events, but what could he do? Ino was influential and both he and Chouji were under the influence.
Ino passed the powdered sugar-caked pastry dish to her drooling teammate and snatched the large piece of paper from Shikamaru's fingers. She made a face before laughing and poking her tongue out.
"So much exaggeration!" she crowed, displaying the image to the boys. Chouji nodded. Shikamaru sighed.
"It was too troublesome," he grumbled. Ino huffed in reply.
"Can't you appreciate time spent with your teammates, you lazy ass?" Ino chastised, waving the paper around in front of his eyes. Shikamaru batted it away, grumbling incoherant words under his breath. "Anyway," Ino continued, scrutinizing the image once more, "Chouji, see how fat that guy made you look? Honestly. And Shika, it looks like he used a pineapple for a model!" She giggled much to the boy's chagrin. "But..." she continued, "I wonder why he put me in the middle. I was sitting by you!" She blinked up at Chouji, who in turn was looking forlornly at his now-empty plate.
"... Did he really?" Shikamaru asked, taking the paper from his kunoichi comrade and looking it over. Sure enough, her position had changed from their seating arrangement. Ino puffed up proudly.
"I think it means we make such a great team!"
"Hmph. Think what you want, troublesome woman."
"I will!" she retorted, taking the picture back. Shikamaru noticed, though, how she folded it up carefully before gingerly holding it to her chest for the rest of the day.
Ino dubbed it "team activity" when Shikamaru called it "pain in the ass". Chouji was just content to watch them squabble over a caricature.
