Characters: Dexter and Harrison, post season 4

Back-story: I have a cold and that makes me want to be snuggled in a warm bed with someone special nearby.

Middle of summer, and Harrison caught the worst cold of his three year old life. He cried and preferred to chew on an empty toilet paper roll instead of cuddling with his warm stuffed animals.

Dexter wiggled a polka-dotted dinosaur near Harrison's nose, hoping his fussy son would take the bait. Harrison refused, sniffling and pushed his dad's hand away.

"Son, you know it's easier to catch a bad guy than it is to console you. You like Saucey. Astor gave it to you." More wiggling and a tap on Harrison's little head.

Harrison answered with a short blast of his breakfast from his little mouth. Dexter looked on pitifully. His child peered at him with the same tired look, ready to cry, but he didn't. Even with the vomit on Saucey the dinosaur's tail, Harrison offered it back to his dad.

"Oh I need it more than you do now, huh?" Dexter laughed, kissed his son's forehead and rushed to get the tyke (and himself) cleaned up.
