Just had an idea for a Rikki/Zane one shot, so here you go.
I remember when it all started.
That day when she took my spark plug.
The first time we kissed, in a ring of fire.
From there, it went upwards... mostly.
But the most significant day, I was shaking with nerves.
I knew that from now on it was all or nothing.
So I organised a date. On Mako Island, in that ring of fire where we first kissed.
This was the date that was going to change my life.
Forever.
We had our picnic, consisting of chocolate, chocolate and you guessed it, more chocolate. Let's just say I didn't organise this for my sake.
But, I just couldn't wait a second longer. I had to get it out of me.
And so, 10 years ago, on this very day, I knelt down, and spoke those magic words. Taking her hand in mine, I slipped the ring onto it, telling her just how much I loved her.
That ring was a summary of our love, from the very beginning to this day and forever more.
She must love me a lot, because we have three kids- already. A six year old girl called Sophia Ruby, and two year old twins Alex Josh and Ava Grace. Sophia is so much like Rikki already, and she's only six! I can't imagine what she'll be like as a teenager. I'm dreading it already. The twins are really sweet at the moment, not at all like either of us, but they might be different when they're older. Oh, and they are all mermaids or mermen.
Anyway, the pregnancies just showed how strong our love is for each, especially the second one; it was really hard. Especially seeing as we couldn't really go to a doctor or anything, for fear of exposing their secret, so we had to get through it completely on our own. But we survived, and we're closer because of it.
I love my girl so much. She's the best thing that ever happened to me and I will never ever let her go. She was the first person I ever really cared for, and she was the first person who ever really cared for me. From finding treasure to managing a café together, to marrying and having kids, we will always have each other.
